NVG Mode Overview

Night Mode

Night Mode modifies the classic game modes by setting matches in night variants of existing maps. The lack and sparsity of light sources adds a new dynamic to the firefight, requiring the need to don Night Vision Goggles to see through the dark.

All Primary Weapons Will Automatically Have Lasers

Weapons without any laser attachments will automatically have lasers in NVG mode. While they do not appear when hip firing, aiming down sights produces a visible laser that enemy units can use to determine your position.

Night Vision Is A Double Edged Sword

Night Vision Double Edged Sword

Night Vision Goggles (NVG) allow users to see through the dark. However this can be a double-edged sword as in Night Mode, players can toggle light switches and use various light sources to momentarily blind those equipped with NVG.

Thermite & Molotov To Damage And Blind

Thermite and Molotov Cocktails produce light when thrown, staying and burning for few seconds before they die down. You can use these lethals to block enemy pathways or use them to disrupt enemy vision.

Flash Grenades For Disruption & Surprise Attacks

Use Flash Grenades to temporarily blind enemies wearing Night Vision Goggles, leaving them open to attacks. Note that a misthrow or a miscommunication can cause the flash to blind you and your team instead.

Heartbeat Sensor & Snapshot Grenade To Spot

Information is key especially in this visually limiting game mode. Make good use of Heartbeat Sensors and Snapshot Grenades to determine enemy locations, so you and your team can plan the best approach to deal with them.

High Alert For Better Awareness

Even with Night Vision Goggles, the reduction of light can severely affect your visual awareness. Equip the High Alert perk to compensate for this, allowing you to quickly react to immediate threats from the sides and rear.

Battle Hardened To Reduce Flash Effects

As a preventive measure, equip Battle Hardened to quickly recover from the blinding effects of Flash Grenades.

Tracker To Hunt Enemies

Equip Tracker to quickly find enemy positions and locations in the dark. You can also pair this perk with ones like Ghost, and equip your weapons with silencers to mask your presence. Hiding death markers also lets you infiltrate better.

Night Mode Tips

Use NVG Only When You Have To

Night Vision Only Situations

Night Vision Goggles can be toggled off in Night Mode. Know the right time when to turn off your Night Vision and make good use of environmental lighting to your advantage.

Laser Sights Reveal Your Position

Laser Sight Trace Owner

Laser Sights can be seen and traced back to their sources with the help of Night Vision Goggles. Remove laser sights from your weapons when battling in Night Mode to prevent the enemy team from discovering your position.

Flashes Can Blind Your Allies Too

Flashes

Using light sources to visually impair enemies might also affect your allies. Coordinate and communicate with your team to avoid fatal mistakes that might cost you the match.

Use Thermal Optics As Substitute

Some weapons have unlockable thermal optics that will pick up heat signatures. Though you must have your NVG off to use them, they provide an alternative as they are unaffected by smoke and don't leave a laser trail when aiming.
