Jyuratodus - Tips and Tricks

Positioning - Avoid its Front

Jyuratodus's damaging attacks mainly comes from its front, and has surprisingly little moves against hunters that's not directly facing it. Avoid its front and you'll be fine.

MHW Jyuratodus hunting - positioning

Prepare for the Environment

When fighting Jyuratodus, water will slow you down(even your dodge) without proper gear, while Jyuratodus will utilize the mud to ambush you. Items with Aquatic Expert Skills will mitigate this.

Hit the Head and Tail

Jyuratodus's head and tail are its weak spots. Stun is also effective versus Jyuratodus, so bashing its head with a stunning weapon can down it in no time.

Don't touch the Mud Pile

Jyuratodus will spit out mounds of mud which will stay for a while. If you walk in/get hit with it, the mud will give you Water Blight, causing you to be locked in place and take increased Water damage, so stay away from them.

Break off Its Mud Layer for Easier Fight

Jyuratodus' mud layer can be broken off to expose its body. Attacking the exposed parts will deal more damage. Mud Layer can be broken faster by using Puddle Pods, obtained by gathering Watermoss in the field.

Water is just as effective as Thunder and the fact that this monster is covered with mud 80% of the time, a water element weapon is a better choice.
