The Ancient Leshen first appears in Area 12 of the Ancient Forest. After your first encounter, it will puff away into Area 2 and Areas 4-6.
Complete Witcher 3 Quests To Get Fire Runestone
Completion is not required for hunters to participate in Ancient Leshen quests. However, to receive the runestone that lets you cast Agni, you'll need to complete the Witcher 3 quest line.
