Is There A Minimap?
There Is No Minimap

There is no minimap in this game. They've officially stated: In our recent games in the series, players tend to just look at the minimap to proceed. We wanted to encourage players to explore the game world. Those are the 2 reasons they didn't include a minimap in this game.
How To Find Your Objective
Press and Hold L3
If you don't know where to go to progress the main story, press and hold the L3 button to find out where to go.
Look At Your Marker
If you are playing a side quest and you don't know where to go, most of the time you can follow the marker shown on the screen to get to your objective.
How To Check Your Location
Check The Local Map (Touchpad)
Press the touchpad on your controller to see the map. The gold arrow indicates where the player is.
Press The □ Button To Place A Marker

Move your cursor on the Local Map and press the □ button to place a marker. It will still be showing on your screen when you close the map which will be useful to navigate.
Check The World Map (Optional)
Press the Option button located on the upper left of the △ button to see the world map. You can check your location and if you select Obelisk (blue icon) you can fast travel to that location.
