How To Dodge Attacks
Evade With R1 When You See Incoming Attacks

You can dodge by pressing the R1 button during combat. The basic flow of combat is to avoid the enemy's attack by evading them then finding an opening to counter attack.
Precision Dodge Is Activated When The Timing Is Right
When you have successfully timed your Evade to match the enemy's Attack, it triggers a Precision Dodge. After executing a Precision Dodge, the enemy's movements slows down, allowing you to follow up with counter attacks using the □ button or △ button.
Evading & Precision Dodge Tips
Evade Slightly Earlier When You Spot An Incoming Attack
While it's ideal to activate Precision Dodge with precise timing, there's likely a chance that you will get damage when you delay evading incoming attacks. It's recommended to always be ready on performing evades early on to avoid taking damage from the enemy.
Ring Of Timely Focus Makes Evading Easier
If you are wearing the Timely Accessory, Ring of Timely Focus, the flow of time slows down during enemy attacks making it easier to gauge the timing for Evades. If you struggle with action-based gameplay, you can equip Timely Accessories in the Gear Equipment or Gear & Eikons.
Timely Focus And Timely Evasion Cannot Be Used Together
If you have Timely Evasion equipped, it will automatically perform evades for you, and as a result, you won't be able to activate the effects of Timely Focus. Since equipping Timely Evasion would render the gear slot unused, it's recommend to equip other items when using Timely Evasion.
