Attributes List & Effects
| Attribute | Description |
| HP | When the HP reaches zero, you will not be able to fight |
| Attack | The total of STR and the Gear/Equipment, which determines the total damage |
| Defense | The sum of VIT and Gear/Equipment, which determines the final damage reduction |
| Will | The sum of Will and Gear/Equipment, which is related to the ease of cutting the final Will Gauge |
| STR | Stat related to Attack |
| VIT | Stat related to Defense |
| WIL | Stat related to Will |
In FF 16, there are four attributes that affect your performance in battle: HP, Attack, Defense, and Will. Note that all damage calculations are performed using these four attributes. There are no attributes related to power and spirit here unlike in past titles.
How To Increase Attributes
Raise Through Gear & Equipment
Various Attributes can be increased through Gear and Equipment, such as weapons, belts, and vambraces. In terms of Attributes, it is better to wear Gear and Equipment with high values.

Increase The Character Level
STR, VIT, and WIL can be increased by leveling up. Attack, Defense, and Will are also increased for each attribute.
How To Level Up Fast - EXP Farming Guide
Temporarily Increase Them With Items
Attributes can also be increased with items, although it has a limited effect time. The Stoneskin Tonic for example can increase Defense by 30%, but only for 90 seconds. It is recommended to do this at the right time!
