Table of Contents
Is There A Difficulty Setting? What Is The Difference
Difficulty Varies Depending On Gameplay Mode
Story Focused | ・For those who want to enjoy mainly the story ・Slightly less enemy HP and damage from enemies ・Equipped Timely Accessories from the start ┗Attack & Dodge are performed automatically |
---|---|
Action Focused | ・For those who are confident in action games ・All operations are performed manually ┗Timely Accessories are in possession |
In FF16, the difficulty level changes depending on two Gameplay Modes, "Story Focused" and "Action Focused." In Story Focused, damage and enemy HP are slightly lower. Timely Accessories, which automate some movements, are also equipped from the start.
Early Game GuideYou Can Use Timely Accessories At Both Modes
Even you play in Action Focused Mode, Timely Accessories are also in your possession from the start. If you equip them, part of operations can also be automated in Action Focused Mode.
Timely Accessories & Their EffectsAccessory | Effect |
---|---|
Ring of Timely Strikes | By pressing □, you will be able to use your equipped Ability and Feat to perform various attacks. |
Ring of Timely Evasion | When Clive is about to be attacked, if he is ready to dodge, he will automatically evade. |
Ring of Timely Focus | Time slows down when Clive is about to be attacked by an evadable attack. *No effect when equipped with the Ring of Timely Evasion. |
Ring of Timely Healing | Clive will automatically use a potion when his HP falls below a certain point. *Potion will be used before high potions. |
Ring of Timely Assistance | Torgal will automatically respond depending on Clive's attacks. *Same effect as the Ring of Timely Strikes. |
Up to three Accessories can be equipped, so you can customize the difficulty to your preference by combining them as you wish.
Timely Accessories GuideStoryline & Available Items Won't Be Affected
The storyline and available items will remain the same regardless of the mode you choose. Your decision can be based solely on the level of difficulty you prefer.
Ultimate Difficulty Will Be Added After Completing The Main Story
After finishing the storyline, a new and challenging level called "Final Fantasy Mode" becomes available. This level is incredibly difficult, with changes in enemies and where they appear. Players with exceptional action skills should give it a try.
Recommended Difficulty
Try Action Focused Mode First
You can change the difficulty at any time, so it is recommended to try Action Focused at first, where you can enjoy the action elements to the maximum. If you are familiar with action games, the difficulty level is right for you.
Equip Timely Accessories If It Is Too Difficult
Name | Difficulty | Explanation |
---|---|---|
Timely Strikes Timely Evasion | Super Easy | ・Attack & Dodge automatically by pressing □ repeatedly ・The two together make the battle much easier └ Note that it may be too easy |
Timely Focus | Quite Easy | ・Almost avoids all the Attacks ・For those who are not good at action games |
Timely Assistance | Easy | ・Enhances Torgal's power ・Recommended as it reduces the battle time └ Remove it if you aim for high difficulty |
Timely Healing | Slightly Easier | ・No need to worry about HP ・Can be used immediately from the start ・For those who run into the enemy and get hit |
If Action Focused Mode is difficult for you, try equipping these Timely Accessories before changing to Story Focused Mode. It is best to adjust the difficulty for your preference by referring to the above.
All Timely Accessories ListUse Story Focused Mode If It Is Still Too Difficult
If you find the game difficult even with the maximum use of Timely Accessories in Action Focused Mode, change the mode to Story Focused. Equipping Timely Accessories in Story Focused will make it the easiest difficulty level.
How To Change The Difficulty
Can Be Changed In System At Any Time
The Gameplay Mode can be changed from Main Menu → System at any time. Feel free to toggle to match your mood. You can change various settings other than the difficulty level.
You Cannot Change Difficulty When You Select Final Fantasy Mode
You can unlock Final Fantasy Mode after clearing a game. If you select Final Fantasy Mode, you cannot change to other difficulty for that save.
