What is Dominant?

Dominant Are People With Eikons

Dominant is a person who has an Eikon in them and can summon it down to their body. The treatment of Dominant varies from country to country with some treating them as royalty and nobility, while others simply see them as tools of war.

If You Continue To Use Magic, You Will Become Petrified

If a Dominant continues to use Magic and the strain on their body doesn't stop, they will begin to petrify, and if the petrification is extensive, they will die. The cure for this phenomenon is still not known.

When A Blessing Is Given, Some Abilities Can Be Used

When a Dominant gives a blessing, the person to whom it is given can use some of the Eikon's abilities. The main character Clive has received a blessing from his brother Joshua and has been able to use some of Phoenix's abilities since early in the story.

Valisthea's Most Dangerous Beings

In Valisthea, the setting of Final Fantasy 16, Eikon and Dominant are defined as the most dangerous beings. It is also said that those born as Dominant cannot escape their harsh fate.

One Person Per Attribute

The basic rule of Valisthea is that there can only be one Dominant per attribute. Previously, only Phoenix had the fire attribute, but the story changes dramatically with the arrival of Ifrit.

Does Not Become Dominant Of Phoenix

Early in the story, it is shown that he did not awaken as the Dominant of Phoenix. Clive, who is not Dominant, becomes a Knight and becomes Joshua's Shield.

The Black Ifrit Appears In While Clive Was Young

The Black Ifrit appears when Clive was young. He is the second Fire Eikon that deviates from the original rules. When he first appears, Infrit does not have a Dominant.

Midway Through The Story, It Is Revealed That It Was Clive

Midway through the story, it is revealed that the Ifrit he thought he saw a boy was Clive himself. Clive then accepts his past and the truth, and is given the power of Ifrit.
