Hold L Stick Forward
There is no specific control for dashing. Clive can automatically dash by fully pressing the L stick forward. There is no need to press other buttons to dash.
Sprint Faster In Open Area
If you keep pressing the L stick forward when you are in an open area, Clive can dash faster. This can be done automatically.
Causes & Solutions If Unable To Sprint
Cannot Sprint In The City
You cannot perform a faster sprint even if you tilt the L stick while in the city because the faster sprint can only be done in open areas.
Cannot Sprint During Combat
You cannot sprint quickly during the battle even in an open area. When you spot an enemy and Clive starts to hold the sword, sprint becomes unavailable until Clive sheathes the sword.
Move Faster With Chocobo
You need to clear The White-Winged Wonder quest to unlock the ability to ride Chocobos. It can be used as a mount that can move faster than sprint.
Sprint While Riding Using R2 Button
You can dash by pressing the R2 button while riding a Chocobo. This lets you move faster than usual.
