Good options for the Free Slot include Tanjiro Kamado, Zenitsu Agatsuma, Lu Bu, and Karl Heron. Thanks to Hayeon's Attack Reduction passive, Sunran's Upper Hand is easier to trigger when the enemy doesn't have Hayeon or Clemyth, which works in your favor.

Sunran

Sunran should run Vanguard to maximize Attack whenever possible. For Hayeon, pick the Tuning that suits your needs: Orchestrator to avoid being locked down by debuffs, Paladin for more healing, or Gatekeeper if you want to focus on durability.

Jeo is a strong pick to keep Sunran's Attack ahead even in mirror matchups. If you haven't built up Jeo yet, Eirin works as an alternative.

Free Slot

If you can stack Resilience with each hero's Dedicated Equipment and properly boost HP, Defense, Block Rate, and Damage Taken Reduction through gear, a Durability Team works well as a counter. Keep in mind that weak gear may not be enough to survive.

Good options for the Free Slot include Aris, Alice, and Lina.

Clemyth

You need to withstand the enemy's damage output, so equip everyone with durability-focused gear to raise their survivability.

Clemyth tends to survive until the end in most cases, so the Ring of Immortality isn't essential. If you're short on rings, a Rare ring with an HP Boost Refine will also work fine.

Diaochan's Skill 2 strips the enemy's Sunran's Upper Hand, then this comp finishes them off with your own Sunran. If your Sunran's Attack is higher than the opponent's, the fight is easier, but there's still a path to victory even if you can't out-damage them.

For Diaochan, Spellweaver works well to boost your Sleep and Buff Duration Reduction success rate, while Sunran should run Vanguard to raise Attack.

Give Diaochan the Ring of Authority or Ring of Immortality to boost her survivability, so she can land a Cooldown Reset after Sunran has used up her skills.

This comp uses Eileene and Zenitsu Agatsuma's Shock to lock down the enemy while you attack. If you run Sunran, put her in the back row; if you run Tanjiro Kamado, put Zenitsu in the back row instead.

After inflicting Shock on Yoongun with Zenitsu's Skill 1 or Eileene's skill, using Zenitsu's Skill 2 Buff Duration Reduction to strip his Crowd Control Immunity makes it easier to capitalize on the Shock.

TipsTips!Zenitsu's Skill 1 has a higher Shock infliction rate, but since it's a single-target attack, it's only effective if you have 100% Weakness Hit Chance and can act first.

Trude Comp Counter Points

  • Pushing through with raw damage is best
  • Trude's Debuff Removal makes Death a tough pick
  • Going for an HP-difference win is also tough if Trude deals heavy damage

Build a 3-hero Attack-type comp centered on second-string attackers like Lu Bu and Dellons. For the Free Slot, Randgrid, Karl Heron, and Orkah are good options.

TipsTips! You could also swap out Lu Bu or Dellons for Sunran or Zenitsu Agatsuma.

Bounty Tracker gear is the standard pick here — aim to get Crit Rate and Weakness Hit Chance as close to 100% as possible. With dedicated equipment giving Crush on top of that, getting Crit Damage to around 200% is ideal.

Since you need to cut down Radgrid's and Trude's healing, Yu is the best pick for this pet. Eirin and Jeo also work as alternatives, but your attacker will need considerably more damage to compensate.

Rudy

Aris

With Rudy's Link making everyone share incoming attacks, this comp makes it easy to keep Aris's Awakening Passive active for longer, which is its main strength. Make sure to raise everyone's Effect Resistance so the Link doesn't get stripped.

Rudy
Clemyth
Aris

Choose whether to build Aris for pure damage or lean tankier, based on your preference.

Clemyth tends to survive until the end in most cases, so the Ring of Immortality isn't mandatory. If you're short on rings, a Rare-grade ring enchanted with an HP Boost effect works fine too.

Best Pets
IdealAltAltAlt
PikeRuuKaramMerparrow

Pike is the best pick here, since its Effect Resistance boost helps keep the Link from being stripped. If you want more durability, Ruu (Defense Boost) or Karam (Block Rate Boost) are solid picks, and Merparrow is also an option if you want to boost your Stun success rate.

Rudy & Aris Comp Counter Points

  • Death is effective, but harder to pull off than against the Radgrid comp
  • Aim for 100% Crit Rate to counter Aris's Block
  • If Aris is running tanky gear, going for an HP-difference win is also viable

When using Death against a comp with Aris, it's ideal to get everyone's Crit Rate to 100% so her On-Block effect doesn't trigger. This is especially effective if the enemy hasn't boosted their Effect Resistance.

Get everyone's Crit Rate to 100%. For Rosie, prioritize durability by boosting Block Rate and Damage Taken Reduction, while Knox and Mist should focus on Effect Hit Rate and Damage Taken Reduction.

Merparrow is the best pick for boosting Effect Probability. If it's not trained up yet, Kree (Effect Hit Rate Boost) works as a substitute.

Diaochan

If the enemy's Aris is running tanky gear like Gatekeeper, this comp can go for an HP-difference win. If Aris is running damage gear like Bounty Tracker, you likely won't be able to outlast them, so this isn't a great fit there.

Diaochan

To avoid getting taken out by Aris's On-Block effect, everyone should boost their Block Rate and Damage Taken Reduction as much as possible. Diaochan in particular is easy to take down and has no Revive passive, so equipping the Ring of Resurrection is a great idea for her.

TipsTips! If Lina looks like she can tank the enemy's attacks, a Legendary ring isn't strictly necessary for her.

Pike is the best pick to raise Effect Resistance so you don't get locked down by Stun or similar effects. Since you're going for an HP-difference win, Jeb — which boosts healing — is also effective.

This comp centers on Giyu Tomioka and Aris, who pair well thanks to Protection and increased Awakening Gauge gain. For the Free Slot, Universal-type heroes like Gelidus, Sun Wukong, Eileene, and Trude are good candidates, as are Clemyth and Shinobu Kocho, who's a great healer that can also double as an attacker.

Giyu Tomioka

Build Giyu Tomioka with Guardian gear to boost his Defense. For Aris, the standard approach is to raise Block Rate so her On-Block effect triggers, though Bounty Tracker is an option too if you also want her to deal damage.

For simple survivability, Ruu is best; if you want to raise the trigger rate of Aris's On-Block effect, go with Karam. Both Giyu Tomioka and Aris have Debuff Removal, but Pike is also an option if you want to be extra cautious about Death.

Giyu Tomioka & Aris Comp Counter Points

  • If the enemy has no Sun Wukong, a Radgrid + Ace comp is effective
  • O'Mok or Yoongun's HP Alteration is effective too
  • Depending on the enemy's bulk, pushing through with a Physical team is also possible

Guild War Team Building Tips

Just Build 3-4 Strong Defense Teams

In the Major League, a guild can place up to 115 defense teams, but 20 of those go to the Main Castle, where the outcome is often already decided by the time it's reached.

That means each of the 30 guild members only needs to build around 3.2 core teams. Rather than spreading your rings and combat power thin across 5 teams, it's best to start by building 3 strong teams.

Build One Physical, One Magic, and One Tank Team

If you're building 3 strong teams, you'll generally end up with a stronger lineup by building a Physical team centered on Attack-type heroes, a Magic team centered on Magic-type heroes, and a Tank team centered on Universal- or Defense-type heroes.

TipsTips!Attack- and Magic-type heroes tend to have deeper rosters, so advanced players who can build 5 teams should add extra Physical and Magic teams.

Death Teams Aren't Suited for Defense

Guild War is fundamentally about reacting after seeing the enemy's comp, which makes Death teams a poor fit since they're easy to counter with Death Immunity and similar effects. Even though Mist can strip Death Immunity with Buff Duration Reduction, from the second match onward the enemy can predict your Speed, making it unreliable.

When Attacking, Bring a Favorable Comp

A classic example: Death teams are effective against Radgrid comps that are light on Debuff Removal. Also, if the enemy's Sunran isn't paired with Hayeon, bringing both yourself makes it easier to outdamage them.

In short, the basic approach on offense is to pick a team that matches the enemy's comp.

Mirroring Is a Last Resort

Being able to see the enemy's comp and respond with a favorable team is the attacker's biggest advantage, so mirroring their exact comp should only be a last resort.

In a mirror match, the outcome depends heavily on luck — not just gear and Transcendence differences or who moves first, but also the chance of losing purely due to skill order.

Check Speed, Rings, and Skill Order Against Strong Teams

Once you've challenged a team even once, other guild members can see a rough idea of its Speed, its skill order, and any Legendary rings that were spotted.

If you have attacks left but no team ready, it's best to first challenge a strong-looking team with a team around 250 Speed. This will provide valuable reference information for your guild's top members.
