How to Clear Nightmare 1-30

This guide covers how to clear Nightmare 1-30 in Seven Knights Re:Birth. Including recommended heroes, enemy info, what equipment to use, what type of immunity, and more.

Overview of Nightmare 1-30

Difficult Without Proper Team Comp

Nightmare 1-30 is difficult to brute force, especially without a balanced team or sufficient gear. Relying solely on high offensive units will not guarantee victory. This stage heavily emphasizes and rewards proper team building, making the right tools and immunities essential for clearing it.

Requires 2 Teams

It’s important to note that Nightmare Mode requires players to set up two separate teams per stage. This means you’ll need to raise more heroes and carefully balance both teams to ensure consistent clears.

In Nightmare 1-30, the enemies may appear weak, but the Nightmare Slimes can heal their entire team for 25–50% of their max HP. They can also revive once per battle with 60% HP, making the stage difficult to clear without the right team setup.

Strategy & Tips

Crowd Control is Effective

Instead of reducing enemy healing, you can bring heroes with AoE Crowd Control to stop them from healing entirely. This strategy provides more team flexibility and helps minimize damage taken. Additionally, enemies only have 5% Effect Resistance, so your heroes can focus more on survivability.

Healing Reduction

To clear Nightmare 1-30, you’ll need to either prevent or reduce enemy healing. Ace is an excellent F2P option who is obtainable early in the game and performs well in Physical Teams as a Debuffer.

HP Alteration

Inflicting HP Alteration is an effective way to deal damage, as it sets enemies' HP to a fixed threshold, ignoring both their HP and defense. Platin stands out as a strong option for this role, serving as both a tank and a source of Buff Removal when needed.

Death Teams

If you have Kris, running a Death Team is a strong alternative. This setup lets you bypass enemy mechanics and stats entirely by instantly defeating them after 3 turns or once 2 stacks of Death are applied.

Enhance Hero Skills

Enhance your heroes' skills, prioritizing tanks and healers to boost their effectiveness and utility. Skill Enhancement materials can be obtained from Story Event rewards, the Shop, and the Infinite Tower.

Use Protective Formation

Protective Formation is the recommended setup for Nightmare 1-30. At Level 20, it boosts Back Row heroes' Attack by 26% and grants Front Row supports and healers a 6.5% Defense increase. Other formations can also work but require more investments into your characters and gear.

Tips!	Make sure to enhance the formation level for increased back row and front row effect. The higher the Formation level, the better.

Ultimate Enhance Your Team

If you have an Ultimate Enhancement Material, Leah, or spare Fusion fodder, it’s worth investing in adding a weapon slot to your strongest 6★ Legendary DPS or an armor slot to other team members. Nightmare 1-30 is extremely difficult without Ultimate Enhancements, so make sure your core heroes are at least fully enhanced to maximize their survivability and damage output.

Ruby Farm for Fusion Fodder

Once 14-1 or Nightmare 1-1 becomes available, players should begin Ruby Farming to gather enough fodder for fully Ultimate Enhancing their team. This greatly improves survivability and makes clearing stages much easier.

Use Skill Queue

Auto Skills offer convenience, but they don't always select the optimal skills in critical situations. It's best to use the Skill Queue to start with a buff, then monitor combat and manually activate skills as needed.

Tips!	Strategically, queue buffs first, such as 'Shield', then use priority skills manually to gain the upper hand.

Nightmare 1-30 Recommended Heroes

Crowd Control

Recommended Hero	Details
Yu Shin	Yu Shin is an excellent Crowd Control hero who provides a team-wide Effect Hit Rate Boost. He also gains two turns of All Damage Immunity, greatly improving his survivability. His skills can inflict Paralysis on either all enemies or up to three targets. Additionally, for Nightmare 1-30, he can apply Incoming Healing Reduction to lower the amount of HP enemies recover. Recommended Set: Gatekeeper/Spellweaver
Eileene	Eileen is a more offense-oriented Crowd Control hero who provides a team-wide Physical Attack Boost, making her a strong pick for physical teams. Recommended Set: Gatekeeper/Spellweaver
Kagura	Kagura is a strong alternative to Eileen for Physical Teams, offering both Critical Damage and Physical Damage Boosts from her passive. She can also inflict Petrify and Incoming Healing Reduction, making her highly effective for Nightmare 1-30. Recommended Set: Gatekeeper/Spellweaver

Healing Reduction

Recommended Hero	Details
Mercure	Mercure is a powerful hero with great utility. He can Stun all enemies, inflict Incoming Healing Reduction, and apply Magic Flux when three Magic heroes are in the team. Magic Flux deals 12% of the target’s max HP (up to 90% of the caster’s Attack) and stacks up to seven times. His passive reduces enemy Effect Resistance and limits incoming damage to 40% of his max HP, improving survivability. Recommended Set: Gatekeeper/Spellweaver
Ace	Ace's skills are highly valuable in Nightmare 1-30. He inflicts Defense Reduction, Physical Vulnerability, Buff Duration Reduction, and Reduced Incoming Healing, creating opportunities for your team to deal higher damage and complete the run faster. Recommended Set: Vanguard/Gatekeeper

HP Alteration

Recommended Hero	Details
Platin	While Platin may not provide much in PvE content, he is still a decent choice as a tank when you need extra damage with HP Alteration alongside Buff Removal. Recommended Set: Guardian
Li	Li's Taunt skill grants two hits of Physical Damage Immunity. Additionally, his passive lets him counterattack while healing based on his Max HP, and his HP Alteration skill can set an enemy’s HP to 28%, making him invaluable for tough encounters. Recommended Set: Gatekeeper

Death

Recommended Hero	Details
Kris	Kris is the core of any Death Team, allowing you to clear stages without relying on high damage output. Recommended Set: Gatekeeper/Spellweaver
Knox	Similar to Kris, Knox is used to inflict Death on enemies. His passive increases the Death infliction rate, making him an excellent support hero for Kris in Death Teams. Recommended Set: Gatekeeper/Spellweaver

Continuous Healing & Barrier

Recommended Hero	Details
Evan	Evan grants all allies Stun Immunity and provides a Barrier and Defense Boost to the entire team. It's advisable to have his skills enhanced. Alternatively, if you have two healers, you can swap him out for an additional DPS. Recommended Set: Guardian
Yui	Yui is the top recommended support for Adventure stages. She provides continuous healing, greatly boosting team survivability. Enhancing her healing skill for an extra turn is highly recommended. Recommended Set: Paladin/Gatekeeper
Lina	Lina provides a Damage Boost and Continuous Healing. Paired with Yui, they ensure consistent team healing throughout the battle. Luna doesn't require any Skill Enhancement. Recommended Set: Paladin/Gatekeeper

Damage Dealer (DPS)

Recommended Hero	Details
Lu Bu	Lu Bu is a strong Physical AoE damage dealer capable with several skills geared towards dealing large amounts of damage while also providing utility to the team via buffs and Crowd Control skills. Recommended Set: Assassin or Avenger (T6)
Teo	A strong DPS for this Adventure level. His skills deal high damage to all enemies, and with Immortality and All Damage Nullification, his survivability is high. Two Skill Enhancements are recommended but optional. Recommended Set: Assassin or Avenger (T6)
Kyle	Another top contender for best Physical DPS, Kyle’s skills feature exceptional damage scaling, and his passive deals a percentage of the enemy’s Max HP every two attacks. He performs best when paired with two other Attack Type heroes and gains an additional 27% Crit Rate from his passive, making him very easy to build. Recommended Set: Assassin
Yeonhee	Yeonhee is a Magic Damage hero with a Ignore Defense Triple-Target Attack. She is an excellent DPS, capable of inflicting Sleep, and provides Magic Attack Boost to all allies while granting All Damage Nullification to herself. Recommended Set: Assassin
Klahan	Klahan has skills that target all enemies with decent damage. When an enemy's HP drops below 50%, he deals additional Pierce damage. He also inflicts Damage Reduction on enemies and grants himself a Physical Attack Boost. Recommended Set: Assassin
Freyja	She is a top-tier magic AoE attacker capable of HP Alteration on all enemies, Ignore Defense, Bleed, and Defense Reduction based on the number of buffs removed. Since her Effect Hit Rate Boost activates when organized with Magic heroes, she has excellent synergy with Mercure and Juri. Recommended Set: Assassin/Avenger

Biscuit	Biscuit provides excellent utility with her Defense Debuff, Buff Removal, and Weakness Hit Chance Boost, making her a strong addition to almost any team. Recommended Set: Vanguard/Gatekeeper
Ace	Ace's skills are highly valuable in Nightmare 1-30. He inflicts Defense Reduction, Physical Vulnerability, Buff Duration Reduction, and Reduced Incoming Healing, creating opportunities for your team to deal higher damage and complete the run faster. Recommended Set: Vanguard/Gatekeeper
Rachel	She grants all allies a Weakness Hit Chance Boost and inflicts Defense Reduction and Physical Vulnerability on 3 targets. While one of her skills targets only a single enemy, her self-revive greatly enhances her survivability. Recommended Set: Vanguard/Gatekeeper

Nightmare 1-30 Team Formation Example

Depends on Your Roster

As Nightmare requires two teams to clear, the best heroes to bring for each team will vary. However, the Freyja Burst and Death teams stand out among the rest.

With Freyja teams excel in damage and Crowd Control while Death teams focus on survivability and clearing enemies through the Death debuff.

The team is fairly flexible, as any hero with a relevant Immunity or full-team AoE Crowd Control skill can replace Mercure or Vanessa.
