Dongyoung (Awakening)

Dongyoung is the first character to have Deadly Poison, and his greatest strength is its ability to deal damage equal to 30% of the enemy's Max HP. Deadly Poison is particularly effective against Tank teams, meaning that Tank teams will now need to prepare for both Dongyoung-based teams and Physical teams, which is likely to make the meta more challenging for them going forward.

On the other hand, it is questionable whether Dongyoung can serve as a clear counter to Physical teams. Sunran causes attacks from enemies whose Attack is lower than hers to miss, so Dongyoung needs to have higher Attack than her in order to inflict Deadly Poison or Fear. Sunran builds with close to 8,000 Attack have become increasingly common, and some players have even raised hers to around 8,500. Since Dongyoung has relatively low durability and is generally at a disadvantage in matchups against Physical teams, to compete with Physical teams, you will likely need to invest as much as possible into raising Dongyoung's Attack above Sunran's or find another way to deal with her.

Knox (Awakening)

With his Awakening, Knox can now inflict Death with Skill 1, Skill 2, and his Awakening Skill, although the Death effect on Skill 1 is conditional. His Awakening Skill also reduces the entire team's cooldowns, making the addition of another reliable way to inflict Death extremely valuable for Death teams.

Following this Awakening, Knox will likely replace Aquila as the primary Death character used in Guild War.

Evaluation Criteria

Tier SS

The best characters for each type of content. In PvP, they serve as the core of the current meta teams. In PvE, they are key units that are almost essential for clearing high-difficulty stages (around Stage 9–10 and beyond).

Tier S

Characters that perform extremely well across various types of content. In PvP, they are either essential members of the meta team or strong core units in powerful non-meta teams. In PvE, they can fulfill their roles up to mid-high difficulty stages, though there are usually even more optimal characters for the toughest content.

Tier A

Characters that are still worth including in a team when no Tier SS or S characters are available. They typically have one standout feature—such as resistance to certain debuffs—that makes them situationally effective, but they tend to struggle outside of those specific circumstances.

Tier B

Characters that don’t have any specific traits that stand out for particular content, but can still contribute decently through one aspect such as offense, durability, or support. They aren’t entirely unviable, but are generally not recommended for top-tier team compositions.
