Magic Team Features

A Special Attack Team Centered on Magic-Type Heroes

Magic Teams are teams centered on Magic-type heroes. Unlike Physical Teams that rely on high firepower, Magic Teams are characterized by often dealing damage through Special Attacks such as Magic Reflux, Crystal Cluster, and HP Alteration.

Strong Against Tank and Sustain Teams, but Weak Against Physical Teams

Special Attacks let Magic Teams deal damage regardless of the enemy's durability, giving them an advantage against Tank and Sustain Teams. On the other hand, since their own durability tends to be low, they can be overwhelmed by the raw firepower of Physical Teams.

That said, Magic Teams' damage output and durability have improved recently, making the matchup more even.

This is an example Magic Team featuring Hayeon. Her support and Cooldown Reduction increase attack opportunities for strong DPS heroes like Yoongun, which is a nice benefit. Keep in mind that Skuld's Skill 2 Cooldown Increase only activates once Dongyoung reaches Transcendence 6.

This is an example team featuring Reginleif, who brings a Magic-type 5-hero team effect. To trigger Threads of Fate, using an Attack-type formation with Skuld in the front row is also a viable option.

TipsTips!O'Mok's slot could also be filled by Freyja or Yeonhee, among other options.

Must-Have Heroes for a Magic Party

HeroFeatures
YoongunYoongunYoongun is a Magic DPS with some of the highest firepower of any hero in the game, making him extremely powerful and a top priority pick for a Magic Team.
DongyoungDongyoungHe's strong against Tank and Sustain Teams, so he's an excellent pick in metas where they're common. When using him, try to boost his Attack as much as possible.

Other Notable Team Candidates

HeroFeatures
SkuldSkuldShe's a great Debuffer for Magic Teams, standing out for her Barrier Durability Reduction and her Awakening Skill that combines HP Alteration and Unable to Recover.
SilvestaSilvestaAs a strong Magic DPS with Ignore Defense, he's especially good for Magic Teams. His only Buff/Debuff effect is a Magic Attack Boost triggered by Debuff Removal, so pairing him with heroes who cover that gap makes him even stronger.
HayeonHayeonHer support and Cooldown Reduction let her increase attack opportunities for strong DPS heroes, which is excellent. Her Transcendence 6 Passive can lower Sunran's Attack, and she can also lower Defense against Tank and Sustain Teams, both of which are powerful.
ReginleifReginleifShe's an outstanding Support/DPS hybrid who can boost both the damage output and durability of a Magic Team. She comes with team-building restrictions, but she's still one of the heroes you'll want to include.
MeliaMeliaHer strengths include some of the best durability stats among all heroes, her unique Crystal Resonance skill, and her Always-Active Magic Vulnerability. Her Magic Bond is already strong with just 3 heroes, but with 5 it grants a Barrier, making the whole team much tankier.
OO'MokThe Guardian Spirit she can grant to Magic-type heroes is powerful, making her a great Support/DPS hybrid for Magic Teams.
FreyjaFreyjaHer repeated activations of HP Alteration and Buff Removal skills are powerful, making her one of the best AoE Attackers on a Magic Team.
RinRinA great Magic-type hero who can whittle down enemy damage output with Confusion and Weakness Hit Chance Reduction.
JuriJuriHer Souldeath is powerful since it can block enemy Revive and Immortality. It's best applied before Freyja's HP Alteration.
YeonheeYeonheeUsing Skill 2 as her opening move strips Damage Nullification from all enemies while applying Deep Sleep, making it effective for opening plays. Deep Sleep is also useful as a countermeasure against Tank heroes or those with Blessing.
MercureMercureHis Magic Reflux is extremely powerful and pairs well with heroes who attack multiple times, such as Sun Wukong and Yeonhee. His Incoming Healing Reduction is also great as a countermeasure against an enemy Sun Wukong.
Sung JinwooSung JinwooA Magic Attacker whose damage output increases the longer the battle goes on. Pairing him with Melia or Reginleif to cover his durability makes it easier to make full use of his kit, giving them great synergy.

Examples of Other Alternative Heroes

Alternative Hero Examples

Best Pets for a Magic Party

Yu Is Useful in Physical, Magic, and Tank/Sustain Teams Alike

Yu

Yu can lower Incoming Healing and Defense, making it especially useful against heroes with healing effects like Dellons or Silvesta. It can also work as a countermeasure against Tank and Sustain Teams, but it's better to also use an Incoming Healing Reduction hero like Reginleif.

Jeo's Strength Is High Burst Damage

Jeo

Jeo increases outgoing damage and Attack, making it a great pairing for heroes who rely on high firepower, such as Silvesta or Freyja. The Attack Boost is large, but limited to 4 turns — still, it's effective when you want to burst the enemy down fast.

Yeonji as an Alternative to Yu or Jeo

Yeonji

Yeonji can raise Magic Attack, making it a safe, easy-to-use pet when you want to boost a Magic Team's damage output. It becomes an option if you don't own Yu or Jeo.

Yorang for Reducing Physical or Magic Damage Output

Yorang

Yorang can apply Weakness Hit Chance Reduction and boost damage dealt by 4-5 target attack skills, making it especially useful when you want to reduce the damage output of Physical or Magic Teams. The damage boost for 4-5 target attack skills also pairs well with heroes like Silvesta or Freyja.

Richel/Dello to Cover Missing Stats

Weakness HitCrit
RichelRichelDelloDello

Ideally, you'll want to adjust these stats through equipment, but Richel is an option when you're short on Weakness Hit Chance, and Dello when you're short on Crit Rate.
