The Tank and Sustain Team is a team composed of Universal-type, Defense-type, and Support-type heroes. Its strength lies in high durability, outlasting opponents through healing.
Strong vs. Physical Teams, Weak vs. Magic Teams
It is difficult to take down with Physical teams that rely on brute force, but tends to struggle against Magic teams that bypass durability with special attacks. However, recent adjustments to Ace and the introduction of pet Yu have made it harder to outlast Physical teams.
Status Effect Teams as a Variant
A variant of the Sustain Team is the Status Effect Team. This team stops enemies with Petrify, Extreme Chill, and similar effects, but with more anti-debuff heroes like Elysia appearing recently, winning with a pure status effect strategy has become more difficult.
Tank and Sustain Team Examples & Recommended Heroes
Activates both Gelidus's passive (3+ Universal-type heroes) and Pallanus's passive (1+ Defense-type and 1+ Support-type hero). Clemyth's support effects also synergize well with the team, making this a recommended comp.
A Sustain Team example featuring Mist, a status effect hero who applies Fear and Death. Since she can inflict an unremovable Death effect during Fear, this team excels in Sustain Team mirror matches.
Her Defense-type and Support-type team condition effects and Incoming Healing Boost are a perfect fit for Sustain Teams. HP Alteration and party-wide Debuff Removal also provide more options to win against Magic teams.
Party-wide Heal on skill use and Cooldown Reduction when taking damage give him high Healer performance. He also deals solid damage, making him a recommended DPS for Sustain Teams.
A high-durability DPS/support hero whose Universal-type Damage Boost is easy to leverage in Sustain and Status Effect teams. However, he is weak against Magic teams built around Freyja.
Not only does his Extreme Chill immobilize enemies while dealing damage, but HP is also restored when the effect ends, making him a perfect status effect hero for Sustain Teams.
Incoming Healing Reduction is his strength, making him especially effective as a counter to enemy Sun Wukong. His Universal-type also synergizes well with Gelidus.
A status effect hero who inflicts Fear and Death. Her Universal-type synergizes well with Radgrid, and she especially excels in Sustain Team mirror matches.
His Effect Hit Rate Boost passive synergizes well with Gelidus and others. Effect Resist Boost and Debuff Removal are also effective in a status-effect-heavy meta.
A high-durability Tank suitable for the front row of Sustain Teams. However, since he is a self-sufficient hero and not Universal-type, balancing the team becomes more difficult when paired with Gelidus.
Debuff Removal on skill use is her strength, making her especially valuable in environments with many status effect heroes. Silence application also complements Sustain/Status Effect teams.
HP Alteration and consecutive Buff Removal skill activations are powerful, and she is sometimes used as a DPS in more offensive-oriented Sustain Teams.
A Defense-type hero to pair with Pallanus. Not only does he increase allies' durability, but his Crowd Control Immunity grant is especially recommended in status-effect-heavy environments.
With Burn, Stun application, and high hit count from Counterattack, equipping a status effect ring gives him even more opportunities to inflict status effects.
A powerful Healer capable of Reviving 2 allies or the entire party. Her Effect Probability Boost passive is an excellent fit for Sustain/Status Effect teams.
A high-durability crit DPS who can grant Crowd Control Immunity, making her easier to operate in status-effect-heavy environments. However, she is weak against Magic teams built around Freyja.
