Chancellor is a character specialized in reducing enemy firepower, featuring a passive that reduces damage dealt by all enemies, Defense Reduction for a single enemy, and increased Fumble Rate for 3 enemies. He is a viable option when you want to lower the enemy's firepower.

Becomes Easier to Use with Transcendence

2 Transcendence adds All Attack Reduction to Skill 2, and 6 Transcendence adds Damage Immunity when HP is below half. Transcendence is recommended if you plan to use him in Advent Expedition or include him in a Durability team for PvP.

Basically, increasing survivability with the Gatekeeper set is recommended. Since increasing Defense with the Guardian set also boosts HP recovery and attack damage, the Guardian set is also an option if you want to balance offense and defense.
