Tengai (Basket Case) - How To Unlock
Finish Honor & Ash First
To get the Tengai, you need to finish the Story Mission, "Honor and Ash". Clearing it also unlocks the third and final area of the game, "Kamiagata", and also "Jogaku Temple" where the basket hat is located.

Detailed Instructions
| 1 |  From Jogaku Temple, face south and walk towards the red pagoda (the tall red tower) |

| 2 |  Turn right (south-west) once you reach the frozen Jogaku Temple Lake and head into the bamboo forest |
| 3 |  Head straight until you reach two mounds with flags on them. The Tengai can be spotted hanging from the farther one |
What Is The Tengai?
Straw Cosmetic Headgear
The Tengai is a straw hat historically worn by Japanese monks. In Ghost of Tsushima, the player can find one on top of the graves near the Jogaku Temple, alluding to the deaths of some of the monks in the temple.
No In-Game Benefits
Although it looks cool, the Tengai does not give the player any stats or benefits when equipped. Note that you can still equip masks while wearing the Tengai. The above image shows Jin wearing the Tengai together with the Venerable Spirit Mask.
