Permanent Choices In The Game

Advancing The Story Locks The Previous Areas For A Time

Locks fast travel

Once you finish the final mission of Act II, "From the Darkness", you won't be able to go back to both Izuhara and Toyotama (the first 2 areas) for most of Act III. If you want to finish the game with good items and equipment, complete the side quests first before proceeding. You can only get back to these locations after finishing the mission "Heart of the Jito".

Horse Choice Is Permanent

Choosing A Horse

After you choose, the color and the name of your horse will be locked for the whole duration of the game. While this does not give you any combat benefits, you may want to choose carefully as it will be your main company during your playthrough.

Choices In Quests

Choices In Quests

The choices that you make during a quest are irreversible. These may affect your relationship with affected side characters, and the rewards that you'll receive after finishing the quest.

Choices In The Final Story Mission

At the end of the main story, you will be given the option to either kill or spare a certain character. Both choices reward you with a unique skin for the Ghost Armor. Note that choosing one locks you out of that color for the rest of the endgame.

Using Technique Points

Using technique points

Raising your Legend rewards you with Technique Points that you can use to unlock Techniques (skills) that you can use in combat. Consuming a Technique Point to unlock a skill is permanent, so think wisely and try to pick techniques that go well with your playstyle.

No Karma System

The Karma system is a feature where the game keeps track of your choices and alters the story's outcome based on what you did. However the permanent choices that you make do not affect the ending since there is no karma system present.
