What Are Bears?
Hostile Wildlife Encounterable In Woods
Certain animals in the wild such as bears can act hostile towards you if provoked. Usually, they are passive unless you get too close to them. Look for paw marked indicator to see if they are near and hostile.
Bears Are Extremely Formidable Beast
Wild bears, without saying, is vastly more powerful in strength compared to average human being (including Jin). If you get caught by its gnashes, it will easily toss you around like an old rag, dealing critical amounts of damage!
Provides Predator Hides
Killing Bears will reward you with 6 pelts of Predator Hides to use for your upgrades. Although you get quite the quantity, you should be prepared for a fight should you choose to take on this hunt.

Keep Your Distance
Bears are surprisingly agile for its size, and can easily close in the distance between you in a leap. Try to utilize your ranged weapons such as bows and Ghost weapons to deal damage while keeping your distance.

As previously mentioned, bear can even shred the most formidable of swordsmen with its unblockable swipes and gnashes. Keep your distance and avoid melee attacking from the front. If there are no other choice, try to strafe around it to hit it from the blind side.
Ghost Weapons Are Effective
Ghost Weapons such as Smoke Grenades will allow you to make some distance between the bear and yourself, should you need to retreat to run or prepare for your next attack.
