By learning the "Wind of Vanity" Exploration Technique from your Samurai Skill Tree, you will be able to augment your Guiding Wind to guide you to any unfound Vanity Gears found on the map. You may assign which points of interest to track from the Map menu by pressing right on your D-pad.

Cosmetic Items To Change Appearance
Vanity Gear in Ghost of Tsushima are collectible cosmetics that are able to change the physical appearance of Jin Sakai.

Vanity Gear does not provide any type of gameplay advantage. They only serve to alter the outward look of the protagonist. You can give Jin a battle advantage by equipping different kinds of Armor.

Certain Armor sets grant you masks and helmets once you upgrade them to a certain level. Be on the look out for these sets as they do complement your style. You can also change their colors once you buy the necessary dyes.
