What Are Support Characters?
Unique Support Moves & Techniques
Support Characters are story characters that assist you in combat. They can be called upon to do moves and skills that can induce status effects or damage upon your enemies, making it easy for you to take down even stronger foes.
3 Types Of Support Characters
| Type | Description |
|---|---|
| Offensive | -Prioritizes attacking and chasing down opponents. -Can perform Super Attacks with you. |
| Defensive | -Specializes in defending and hindering enemy attacks. -Can block enemy Ki Blasts. |
| Special | -Can restore your HP and Ki. -Can either attack or chase down enemies or defend you from enemy attacks. |
Support Characters also fight with you in combat. They can dish out damage, can help you continue combos, and assist you by helping you recover HP. If their Support Gauge is half full, they will automatically perform an action to assist you as you fight.
Higher Friendship = Better Support
The higher your friendship is with the character, the higher the capacity of the character's support gauge. You can increase friendship by giving the character gifts.

How To Use Support Characters
Use Super Attack Assists
You can use the support palette (R1 for the PS4) to select an attack that they can use during combat. Support Characters have 4 different attacks that you can choose from with each having varying effects and damage.
Cooldown Time After Use
Upon using a Super Attack assist, their character icon will darken, rendering them unusable for a duration of time. You will need to wait for a while for them to recover and provide support again. Super Attack assists fill the Support Gauge of Support Characters.
Use Z Combination Attacks
You can make use of the filled Support Gauge by using Z Combination Attacks to unleash devastating blows on your enemies. Z Combination attacks end with a damaging super attack that can deal a tremendous amount of damage.
