Should You Pull for Dongyoung and Knox?
Pull for Dongyoung If You Want to Strengthen Your Magic Team

With Deadly Poison and Incoming Healing Reduction, he's a Magic-type hero who's strong against Tank and Sustain Teams, making him a great fit for Magic Teams. He's best built around high Attack, and he can also work as a counter to Sunran, so he's a great pick for anyone looking to strengthen their Magic Team.
His Transcendence Effects Are Excellent
At Transcendence 2, he grants Damage Immunity to Magic-type allies in the same row, and at Transcendence 6, he gains +1 Indomitable count plus Magic Vulnerability when an ally is incapacitated. Transcendence 6 is ultimately ideal since it improves his staying power, but even stopping at Transcendence 2 is still worthwhile.
Knox Is Well-Suited for Strengthening Guild War Death Teams

With the addition of his Awakening, Knox gained another Instant Death-inflicting skill and the ability to grant allies CT Reduction, making him much easier to use. Since many of his effects target 3 enemies, he's especially great when running a Death Team in Guild War.
Transcendence 2 Is a High Priority
At Transcendence 2, he gains an effect that reduces Effect Resist, and at Transcendence 6, he gains an effect that generates a Barrier when his HP drops below half. Since Instant Death Application Rate directly decides wins and losses on Death teams, Transcendence 2 is well worth aiming for if you plan to use him. Transcendence 6 is better if you're using him in PvP.
Tips! | Compared to Legendary Special heroes, there are more chances to obtain him, so it's also an option not to force pulling on the Gacha. |

Dongyoung is a status-effect attacker who relies on deadly poison and fear to pressure opponents. While primarily effective in magic-based PvP teams, he also proves useful in certain PvE scenarios where poison is effective or where a magic damage boost is needed.

Knox is useful in Death teams for both PvP and PvE. Awakening grants the ability to reduce cooldowns for the entire team, making him even more versatile; he can also be used as a tank.
Dongyoung's Impact on the Meta
Tank and Sustain Teams Become Less Favorable
Tank and Sustain Teams already declined somewhat after Sunran was added in the previous update, and Dongyoung also has strong performance against Tank and Sustain Teams through Deadly Poison and Incoming Healing Reduction. As more Magic Teams incorporate Dongyoung, Tank and Sustain Teams are likely to become even harder to use.
Does Attack Matter More for Magic Teams Too?
To inflict Deadly Poison or Fear on Sunran, who's common in the current meta, you need Attack higher than hers. Looking at Physical Teams, Jeo and Yeonji have an edge over Yu for pets, and the importance of Pet Skill Enhancement and Potential is likely to increase as well.
Knox's Balance Adjustment's Impact on the Meta
Guild War Death Teams Get Stronger
In traditional Guild War Death Teams, there used to be windows where no skills could be used while waiting for a CT Reset after using a skill. Bringing in Knox, who has an Awakening Skill, lets you use skills during that window, and his CT Reduction also raises uptime, which is excellent.
Tips! | With Knox's Awakening, Aquila, who has similar performance, is likely to see less use in Guild War. |

Dongyoung's Team Comp and Alternative Heroes
A Great Fit for Magic Teams
| Best Team Pairings for Dongyoung | |||
|---|---|---|---|
Since Dongyoung grants Damage Immunity to Magic-type allies in the same row, he's best paired with other Magic-type heroes. He pairs especially well with O'Mok and Yeonhee, both of whom have a Magic Attack Boost passive.
Alternative Heroes: Mercure, Kyrielle, and Sung Jinwoo
Mercure has a similar role in dealing damage through status ailments and applying Incoming Healing Reduction, making him a solid alternative. As for heroes with a Magic Damage Dealt Boost passive, Kyrielle and Sung Jinwoo can serve as alternatives too.
Knox's Team Comp and Alternative Heroes
A Great Fit for Death Teams
| Best Team Pairings for Knox | |||
Rosie | Mist | Kris | Aquila |
Since he has a passive that boosts his Instant Death Application Rate and is a hero specialized in Instant Death, he's best teamed up with other Instant Death heroes. Pairing Instant Death heroes together can also create synergy between Effect Hit Rate Boost and Effect Resist Reduction.
Alternative Hero: Aquila
Aquila has a passive that boosts Instant Death Application Rate and is likewise a Defense-type Instant Death hero, making her a solid alternative. In Guild War, she's a good candidate to swap in for Knox's slot.
