Follow The Road To The East From The Gatefront Ruins
The easiest way to reach the Waypoint Ruins is to take the road going southeast from the Gatefront Ruins. If you depart from The First Step, you can go through Agheel Lake where the flying dragon is located.
What You Can Do In Waypoint Ruins
Mad Pumpkin Head (Boss) Can Be Found Down The Stairs
You can find a staircase leading to the basement on the right side of the room. At the bottom of the staircase is a fog, in which if you pass by it, you will encounter the Mad Pumpkin Head. His movements aren't really threatening, but it can be quite difficult to dodge his attacks because the area is small.
You Can Buy Magic From The Sorceress Once You Defeat The Boss
After defeating the Mad Pumpkin Head, the door at the room in the back will open. You can find Sorceress Sellen, who will ask you if you want to learn magic. If you say yes, you will be able to purchase sorceries from her. After talking to her, you will also obtain the Nod In Thought gesture.

Site Of Grace Can Be Activated
By defeating the Mad Pumpkin Head, you will also unlock the Waypoint Ruins Cellar Site of Grace. With this, you can always teleport back to buy more magic from Sorceress Sellen.
Release The Summon Sign
It might be hard to see since it is not clearly visible, but if you go from the west side, you can see a summon sign on the left side as you head towards it, so try to release it.

Timing For Dodging
Since the combat area is small, it can be difficult to fight him while keeping a distance. Try to avoid its attacks by moving at the right time. Since the boss continuously attacks, try not to force a counterattack recklessly. Watch carefully whenever he stops attacking for a chance to strike.
Summon Spirits
The area might be small, but you can still summon spirits. Since there is only one enemy, you can attack at multiple points. While your spirits are targeting the boss, attack from behind or launch a long-range attack using magic or a bow.
