Number of Endings and Branching Conditions
There Are 2 Ending Possibilities
There are 2 endings that you can get: a normal ending & an evil ending. Once completed, you can see the true ending by completing the post-game quests.
The Credits Will Be Unlocked Only After The True Ending
When either of the endings, normal or evil, is done, the cutscene still goes on. After the cutscene, complete The House Cup Main quest during post-game to unlock the credits roll.
Option Changes Before Boss Fight
Once inside the repository, Professor Fig asks you a question about your intentions regarding the forgotten magic. The option that you choose for the question dictates the ending that you will get. Refer to the table below for the endings.

Choices That Matter In Hogwarts Legacy
Ending Difference
See the difference in the ending (contains SPOILERS)
In this ending, the stones above are beginning to collapse after defeating the last boss. You tried to stop the collapse but you cannot do it alone and fortunately, Professor Fig appears and helps you to prevent the collapse.
Trophies That You Can Get
Whichever Ending that you choose, you will receive the same Trophy. So if you are just wanting to collect Trophies you can choose whichever ending you would like to see.
What Is The Connection Between Evil Ending & Dark Arts?
There Is No Connection Between The Two
A lot of people think that learning Unforgivable Curses, such as Avada Kedavra, Crucio, & Imperio, will lead to an evil ending.
In the original Harry Potter, there were many people who became evil and kneeled to Lord Voldemort, so it may be taken to mean that using Unforgivable Curses = becoming an evil wizard/witch.

Just A Choice In The Story
It is an ending in which you gain great power, but being evil is just an option in the storyline. Even if you don't learn Avada Kedavra, you can still unlock the evil ending.
Dialogue Options Do Not Affect Main Story
The options that appear during dialogues with the characters do not affect the main story. They only change the characters' impression of you.
Enjoy The Evil Ending Cutscene
You can use Unforgivable Curses, including Avada Kedavra, and play as the bad guy since you can play the good guy by default.
