How To Grow Plants?
Learn From Professor During The Main Quest
Upon progressing through the Main Quest, you will be able to meet Professor Garlick during the Herbology class. If you haven't met Professor Garlick, make sure to play through the Main Quest in order to meet her!
Potting Table Will Be Unlocked
Once you have started Professor Garlick's Herbology class, you will be able to unlock the Potting Table feature that allows you to plant seeds, and grow plants.
Start Planting & Wait For It
Interact with the Small Planter and start to plant seeds of your liking. Each plant has a different growth time so you can opt to wait for them to grow or just leave it for a while. The seeds can be purchased at Magic Neep, Dogweed, and Deathcap.
Some Plant Species Requires Larger Pots
Chinese Chomping Cabbage and Shrivelfig can only be planted in medium or large flowerpots, while the Fluxweed and Venomous Tentacula are only for large flowerpots. You will not be able to use the flowerpots that were used during the class, so it is recommended to progress in the story in order to use the other pots.
Plant & Harvest Plant As Many As You Want!
Once a seed is planted, it can be harvested as many times as you want. Therefore, if you want to plant another seed, you can just empty the flower pot, and then proceed on planting a new seed.
Obtained Seeds Will Not Disappear
No matter how many seeds you plant in the pot, you will never ever lose them. Even if you accidentally empty a flowerpot, you can still plant in it again.
Add Pots Inside The Room Of Requirement
Flowerpots can be added inside the Room of Requirement where you can grow and harvest plants inside the room. This feature can be fully accessed upon progressing through the main quest. A maximum of seven (7) flowerpots can be installed inside the room.
Large And Medium Pots Can Be Installed
Large and medium-sized flowerpots can also be added inside the Room of Requirement, however, you will need to purchase the required materials needed in order for you to install the pots.
Fertilizers Can Also Increases Yield
Fertilizer can also be used to increase the yield, however, the effect of the fertilizer will only be effective for one harvest and it will only increase the yield to one. It is highly recommended to use it only on plants that have a higher original seed value.
You Can Get Fertilizers Through Shop & Composting Machine
Fertilizers can be purchased at Magic Neep, Dogweed, and Deathcap, it can also be obtained through a Composting machine inside the Room Of Requirement. It costs 300 Galleons while the machine-produced fertilizer costs 1,000 Galleons, which is quite expensive so better think about it beforehand.
