Talk to Garreth besides the wall in front of the Great Hall. Apparently he will ask you to get some Billywig Stings from the basement of Honeydukes in Hogsmeade using the secret door that will allow you to go unnoticed.
The entrance to the secret passage has a One-Eyed Witch Statue you can see on the 4th floor at the Grand Staircase. When you get close to it, you can cast spells and go to the entrance.
Inside the secret passage there are puzzle mechanisms where you have to use various spells to be able to proceed. Quite fortunately, there are no enemies that will appear, so you can proceed at your pace.

Find the Billywig Stings in the basement. Go up the stairs in front of you to the store and Fast Travel to where Garreth is.
Options On Giving The Billywig Stings
When you bring back the Billywig Stings to Garreth, you will have to choose from two dialogue options. If you select " All yours! - for a fee.", you can get 300 Galleons in addition to the +180 XP and Conjuration Spellcraft reward.

Help the person that you don't know that is being harassed by someone in Hogsfield. You will learn about Trials of Merlin from Nora and when you start the quest then a Side Quest will activate.
