Shiver Leviathan Overview & Details

Aggressive Pack Leviathans

Patrolling the forbidden waters in Subnautica 2, the Shiver Leviathan travels in a group with the bigger female at the lead along with three smaller males. They are highly aggressive and will individually act to attack a target.

Relentless Hunters

So long as you are in their area, the Shiver Leviathan will not stop chasing you down. This persistence can only be quelled once you cross to the safe side of the border again.

Off-Limit Waters

The Shiver Leviathan is a warning for players to stay within the bounds of current map of Subnautica 2. It will spawn close to player whenever they enter the off-limit regions of the map.

Marked by an Orange Border

The boundaries is marked by an orange border which a player can easily swim through. However, once you do, it signals the Shiver Leviathan to your location.

Location Could Change in Future Updates

With Subnautica 2 still in early access, it's highly likely that Shicer Leviathan's location could change with the addition og new locations.

How to Scan the Shiver Leviathan

Use the Boundary to Safely Scan It

Since the Shiver Leviathan is bound to the void region, it cannot attack or go beyond that border. By using the orange boundary, you can skirt between it to lure the Shiver Leviathan to you without it being able to attack you.

Scanning Any of Them Will Work

Regardless if you scanned the bigger female or any of the smaller males, it will count towards scanning all of them. Both the male and the female Shiver Leviathan entries will be unlocked.

Can You Kill the Shiver Leviathan?

No Means to Kill Leviathans

There is no means in the current game to be able to defeat the Shiver Leviathan or any other Leviathan for that matter. The Devs have previously stated that no weapons will be added to the game, making it impossible to kill them.
