What Are Parts?

Parts are materials obtained from Behemoths during hunts when you break off their parts, e.g. horns, tails, legs, etc. These materials are necessary to craft the various weapons and armors available in the game.

As you progress through upgrading your weapons and armor, they may require rarer parts for you to be able to upgrade them further.

Check The Parts You Need

Check The Parts You Need

Before you go on a hunt, check the parts you actually need to craft a weapon or armor at the Weaponsmith or Armorsmith. These parts are listed on the crafting screen.

You Can Check Which Part To Break on PC

Check The Parts You Need

On PC, you can hover your mouse on the icons below the "create" or "upgrade" button to see more information about that part, including which Behemoth & which part to break off. This function is absent on console.

When hunting for specific Behemoth parts, it's best to take on Pursuits as this type of hunt allows you to select the Behemoth you will hunt.

Once you know the source of the parts you need, take on a hunt, and aim specifically for the parts. Ask your team to help you via chat or voice chat, so you can work together on breaking off parts.

Check For Part Damage

Check For Part Damage

Always check whether you are inflicting part damage on the Behemoth. These are indicated by yellow damage numbers, which means that the part you are hitting hasn't been broken off yet.

Once a part has been broken off, move on to a different part and aim break another part off.

Orbs & Arcstones are materials primarily used to upgrade weapons and armor. These are obtained by breaking certain parts from Behemoths, but are primarily from Patrol Hunts.

Orbs Upgrade Gear Of Specific Element

In Dauntless, Orbs are crafting materials used to upgrade weapons and armor according to a specific element.

Arcstones Upgrade Gear From Level 6 Onwards

Arcstones are a higher-level version of Orbs and are used to upgrade gear from +6 onwards. These are very important materials to farm when crafting endgame armor.

Obtain Orbs & Arcstones From Patrol Hunts

Best Obtained Through Patrol Hunts

Orbs & Arcstones are best farmed from Patrol Hunts. If you have the daily Patrol boost, you'll receive more Orbs & Arcstones in a single Patrol mission.

Cores are items that reward Cells, which are slotted into your weapons, armor and lantern that grant perks. Out of all the items you can farm in this game, Cores are the most challenging to farm.

Complete Mastery Objectives

Mastery will be your go-to source for Cores. Completing the mastery objectives will level up its corresponding mastery track, with certain levels rewarding Cores.

Keep Track Of The Behemoth Mastery

Keep Track Of The Behemoth Mastery

Defeating Behemoths not only reward materials, but also contributes towards Behemoth Mastery. Check for available objectives and complete them to level up Behemoth mastery.

Try Out All The Weapons

Weapon mastery also rewards cores at different levels, but not as frequent as Behemoth mastery in the early levels. Complete available objectives to level this up.

Level Up Your Hunt Pass

Level Up Your Hunt Pass

The Hunt Pass also grants Cores when you level it up. Both Basic and Elite tracks reward cores. Simply play through the game to level up the Hunt Pass.

Reagents are requirements for crafting various consumable items such as Tonics and Grenades that aid you during hunts.

Farm Reagents Alone On Pursuit

When farming for consumable item reagents, it's best when done alone on a Pursuit of a lesser Behemoth. This gives you the chance to comb through the map for the entire allowable hunt duration of 30 minutes.

Bring Speed Boost Lanterns

Since your main priority is to run through the map as fast as possible, make sure to bring items that boost your speed, like the Shrike lantern.

Pick Up Speed Boost Aether

Pick Up Speed Boost Aether

Collecting the speed boost Aether gives you a quick boost of speed, allowing you to traverse the map faster.
