What Are Elemental Types In Dauntless?
Determines Elemental Strengths & Weaknesses In-Game
The elemental attributes in Dauntless affect the type of damage you dish out and the type of damage you receive when on a hunt. It influences the strengths and weaknesses of your weapons, armor, and even of the Behemoths you hunt.
Implemented On Slayer Weapons & Armor
The elemental attributes can also be found in Slayer weapons and armor. These affect the type of damage you inflict on Behemoth and the type of damage you can gain resistance to.
Elemental Weapons Can Implement Status Effects
When you use a weapon with an elemental attribute, it can implement status effects that give you and edge in battle. For example, using a Blaze weapon can make the enemy catch fire while Shock weapons can stun enemies for a brief moment.
Types Of Weapon Elemental Status Effects
Weapon Element | Status Effect |
---|---|
Blaze | Behemoth catches on fire and will get damaged over time |
Frost | Behemoth gets slowed for a few moments |
Shock | Stuns Behemoths for a short period |
Terra | Applies a debuff to the Behemoth that will siphon its health and distribute it among Slayers |
Behemoths Have Elemental Attributes
Each Behemoth in Dauntless, save for the non-elemental ones, will have element attributes that can be exploited. Use an opposing element on your weapon to deal more effective damage & use the same element as armor to increase your resistance against Behemoth elemental attacks.
Elemental Weakness & Resistance Tips
Always Use Weapons With Opposing Elements
When you're fighting a Behemoth, always use a weapon that has an elemental attribute opposite of your target. For example, if you're fighting an Embermane, use a Frost weapon to deal extra elemental damage.
Wear Armor With Same Element As Behemoth
To protect yourself from the elemental damage a Behemoth can dish out, wear the same element of armor as its attacks. This lessens the damage you'll receive if you get hit.
Equip & Throw Elemental Grenades
In Dauntless, you'll be able to equip throwable grenades and some of them have elemental attributes. Don't forget to equip & use them you can do more damage to the Behemoth you're facing. Just be sure to use the opposing element to make them more effective.
