Ostian Repeaters - Weapon Overview & Mechanics
Ranged Weapon With High Rate Of Fire
The Ostian Repeaters are the only purely ranged weapons in Dauntless. It boasts of a high rate of fire, dealing fast, continuous damage to Behemoths within a safe distance.
Elementally Adaptable Modular Weapon
The Ostian Repeaters are versatile modular weapon which you can swap out elemental barrels to exploit Behemoth weaknesses without making drastic change to your Build. Prioritize building all element barrels and swap them according to your target's weakness.
Break Behemoth Parts With Pinpoint Accuracy
The Ostian Repeaters are capable of doing slash damage, crucial in severing tails or cutting Behemoth horns. Use your pinpoint accuracy to focus your damage on specific parts to break them quickly.
Cannot Inherently Boop Behemoths
This weapon will not inherently be able to boop or interrupt Behemoths unless using a specific Perk. This severely hinders the Build variety, and are usually recommended to use Concussion Grenade consumable item or Saboteur's Grip for booping.

Powerful Explosive Shot
This chamber allows you to fire exploding missiles with small area of effect. This chamber is great for veterans and rookies alike when in need for high damage on your target, and can be used in most combat situations.
Fires 3 Missiles When Empowered
After an Empowered Reload, your Salvo Chamber shot will fire 3-way missiles, dealing massive damage throughout the target.
Full-Bore Chamber
Multi-hitting Penetrating Shot
Available in Mastery Rank 8, the Full-Bore Chamber can fire a piercing shot able to multi-hit a target as it penetrates through their body. When aimed correctly, it can deal a massive burst of damage in par with other heavy-hitting weapons.
Boosts Damage & Pushes Player Backwards When Empowered
When Empowered, the Full-Bore Chamber gains a massive damage boost per hit, and will recoil the Slayer backwards.
Aim to Penetrate Through Head to Tail
Since the Full-Bore shot hits multiple times as it travels through the Behemoth's body, you can deal the most damage by aiming your shot to penetrate through the head to the tail or vice versa.
Captain's Grip
Deployable Rate of Fire Buff
Using the Captain's Grip deploys an item that can boost your Rate of Fire, allowing you to pump out your rounds even faster.
Buffs All Teammates When Empowered
Deploying the Captain's Grip when Empowered will provide Rate of Fire buffs to all your teammates. Being able to consistently pop this team buff can improve not only you, but your team's entire DPS.
Searing Prism
Consistent Bonus Damage
Unlocked through a quest, the Searing Prism will add a bonus damage (up to +250) for every 10th hit done in quick succession. You may treat this Prism as a flat damage bonus, and will be beneficial most, if not all combat situations.
Can Inflict Blaze Status Effect
As an added bonus, the Searing Prism will also add chunks of Blaze status effect threshold whenever the bonus damage is triggered. This can be useful when used in conjunction with Inferno Barrel to deal extra DoT damage.
Brilliant Prism
High Burst Damage Bonus
Where the Searing Prism adds small consistent boost in damage, the Brilliant Prism deals in a chunk. Dealing damage while equipping the Brilliant Prism will charge up the item, and deal a massive bonus damage (up to +550) in your next shot.
Prism Charges Faster With More Health
Brilliant Prism can be charged faster with more health that you have. This item may not be as effective when utilizing builds & Perks that does not require you to take damage to gain buffs (ex. Rage, Iceborne etc.).

Check Your Optimal Combat Range with Reticle
The Ostian Repeaters will have damage drop off depending on your distance. Treat this weapon as a close-mid range weapon and make sure your reticle is RED; this shows you are in range to deal maximum damage.
Utilize Empowered Reload As Often As Possible
Empowered Reload lets you siphon power from a Behemoth when you reload in close range. This buffs up your damage and rate-of-fire and also amplifies empowers your Grip & Chamber Abilities. Try to keep this buff up as often as possible.
