How To Craft & Upgrade Equipment

1. Unlock Weapon & Armor Mastery Card

The first thing you need to do to craft a weapon or armor set is unlock their Mastery Cards. This is done by completing certain quests in the game and reaching a certain Slayer Level.

2. Collect Behemoth Parts & Elemental Orbs

After unlocking the needed Mastery Cards, you need to collect materials to craft them. Materials are gathered by defeating Behemoths, breaking their parts, and collecting elemental orbs.

Specific materials such as horns or tails can only be received when you break a specific Behemoth part during the hunt.

When you want to gather more elemental orbs, completing Patrols is the way to go. If you haven't finished your Daily Patrol Boost, you'll get 20 or more orbs after one mission.

3. Craft Or Upgrade With Specific NPC In Ramsgate

Craft Or Upgrade With Specific NPC In Ramsgate

Once you have enough materials, head back to Ramsgate - talk to Wils Bormen the Blacksmith or Moyra Heigsketter the Armoursmith to craft & upgrade gear.

After Crafting, Upgrades Need Elemental Orbs

After you've initially crafted your gear, you'll be able to strengthen them further through the use of elemental orbs. These upgrades increase your base defense & affect your elemental weaknesses and resistances.

When you've upgraded an armor set enough, you'll only be able to get to the next upgrade collecting materials from variant Behemoths. This leads to more challenging hunts against very powerful Behemoths.

One way to further strengthen your loadout is to equip cells into available slots in your gear. These can influence your gameplay by adding status boosts, increasing resistances, and more.

You can also improve your gameplay by changing your weapon's specials and mods. This improves the utility of your weapon, making it easier for you to deal bigger damage in every hunt.

Weapons & Armor Upgrading Tips

Prioritize Crafting & Upgrading One Weapon Type

Choose your favorite weapon to main and focus on crafting and upgrading the different elemental types from that weapon category. This saves you from spending rare resources on other weapons.

Streamline Build To Save Materials & Effort

To prevent spreading your materials thinly, it's best to streamline your armor build. Focus on creating and upgrading sets that will allow you to fight stronger monsters faster as this will get you better gear in the future.
