How to Use Sabrina

Use To Win By Switching Enemy Pokemon

When you want to win by defeating a Pokémon on the bench, use Sabrina to retreat the enemy's active Pokemon.Kaze to win. Although various situations are involved, there are quite a number of situations where this applies.

Use Example

Sabrina wins for sure

▲The opponent has 2 options in this situation. If you use Sabrina, there is a chance Golduck or Lapras ex will be set to active spot, and in either case, the Pokemon can be Knocked Out by 2 attacks.

Aim for the Enemy's Key Pokemon

  1. Charmeleon
  2. Ivysaur

A powerful way to use Sabrina is to summon the opponent's attackers which are being prepared on the bench and attack them. Although the situations in which you can target a Pokemon is limited, if you can preemptively attack a Pokemon with Energy attached, there are enough benefits to using the card.

Easy to Use When You Have High Damage Pokemon

  1. Starmie ex
  2. Pikachu ex

If your active Pokemon has a high-damage attack, Sabrina can be used to knock out different Pokemon. Sabrina works well with high-damage Pokemon especially Pokémon that can do a lot of damage with 2 Energy.

Use to Buy Time

In battles, the outcome is often determined by the difference of one turn, so it is important to buy time. By using Sabrina to summon a Pokemon that does not have Energy attached, you can force the opponent to make the decision of attaching Energy or Retreat to buy time.

Especially Important When Going First

If you can use Sabrina to make your opponent waste energy, you can reverse the positions of the first and second attackers. It is powerful if you can use this in the early stages when going first.

Less Effective Against Opponents With Low Retreat Cost

  1. Starmie ex
  2. Electrode

If you have a Pokemon with 0 Energy or a fossil that can Discard with Active Spot on the bench, calling it with Sabrina won't have much effect as the attacker will return immediately.

Also Staryu and Voltorb, keep in mind that it may be disabled by evolution.

Sabrina Pros and Cons

Versatile Supporter For Any Deck

Sabrina's effect allows you to swap your opponent's Active Pokemon with one from their Bench. Depending on the situation, a single Sabrina card can potentially turn the tide of the game, making it a powerful Supporter.

Opponent Chooses The Pokemon To Bring To The Active Spot

While you cannot specify which Pokemon to bring to the Active Spot, the opponent has limited options for swapping their Pokemon, giving this effect considerable strength.

Same Effect As Pidgeot

Sabrina's effect is identical to the Ability of Pidgeot. The key difference is that Sabrina does not require evolving before use, but you do utilize one Supporter slot per turn.
