Pikachu ex Deck - Pros / Cons

  1. Strong 90 Damage Attacks by Pikachu ex
  2. Effective Control with Two Pokemon ex
  3. Raichu Can Deal High Damage

Strong 90 Damage Attacks by Pikachu ex

  1. Circle Circuit
  2. Using Circle Circuit

The main card, Pikachu ex, can consistently deal 90 damage with just 2 Energy, without drawbacks. As a Basic Pokemon, it's easy to deploy, and once fully prepared, it can reliably deal damage from mid-game onwards.

Limited Deck Customization

This deck relies heavily on the Circle Circuit, making it difficult to include non-Lightning Type Pokemon. To ensure stable Bench support, it's recommended to include 6-8 other Lightning Basic Pokemon aside from Pikachu ex, leading to a mostly fixed deck composition.

Effective Control With Two Pokemon ex

  1. Active Spot Pikachu
  2. Active Spot Zapdos

Since both main Pokemon are Basic Pokemon with a 1-Energy retreat cost, this deck allows for flexible rotations among multiple Pokemon ex. This approach is particularly effective against decks that are unable to One-Hit KO Pokemon ex.

Raichu Can Deal High Damage

  1. Using Thunderbolt
  2. Thunderbolt deals 150 damage

Pikachu ex has a max damage of 90, making it difficult to knock out Pokemon ex in a single hit. If you want to take down Pokemon ex in one hit, use Raichu's 140 damage. By combining this with Giovanni, you can also One-Hit KO a 150 HP Mewtwo ex.

Pikachu ex Deck Strategy

  1. Adjust Strategy Based On Your Turn
  2. Set Up Pikachu ex on the Bench
  3. Unleash Pikachu ex’s Attack
  4. Aim for One-Hit KO with Raichu
Adjust Strategy Based On Your Turn
  1. Pikachu ex
  2. Zapdos ex

If you go second, start with Pikachu ex. If you go first, put a Pokemon other than Pikachu ex in the Active Spot. In that case, Zapdos ex is the best choice.

Set Up Pikachu ex on the Bench
  1. Pikachu ex

Once you have Pikachu ex, place it on your Bench and start attaching Energy. Place any other Pokemon you draw on the Bench as well to keep your setup flexible.

Unleash Pikachu ex’s Attack

Once Pikachu ex has enough Energy, start attacking with its “Electric Circle” move. If your Bench is fully stacked, you can repeatedly deal 90 damage per attack.

Create opportunities to retreat Pikachu ex

This deck includes many Pokemon with low retreat costs, making it easy to switch them with benched Pokemon to avoid Knocked Out scenarios. To maximize Pikachu ex's damage output, avoid getting it knocked out. Prepare a second Pikachu ex to maintain your offensive options.

Aim for One-Hit KO with Raichu
  1. Raichu
  2. Lt. Surge
  3. Giovanni

Pikachu ex can only deal up to 90 damage, so having Raichu ready, which can deal up to 140 damage, is essential. Using Lt. Surge, you can transfer Lightning Energy from a benched Pikachu ex to Raichu.

Additionally, if you use Giovanni, Raichu can one-shot Mewtwo ex with 150 HP, achieving a Knocked Out.
