Switch From Active Spot Without Retreat Cost

By using its Ability, Solgaleo ex can switch with the Active Pokemon from the Bench at no cost. Its Attack damage is also high, and by using the Rare Candy mentioned below, it can deal 120 damage as early as the second turn going second, making it a powerful Pokemon suited for fast attacks.

Can Transfer Energy

Once during your turn, Lunala ex can move Energy from 1 of your Benched Psychic Pokemon to your Active Pokemon. It has an Ability similar to Vaporeon, but it’s even better since it works regardless of the Active Pokemon’s type.

  1. Psychic
    60+
This attack does 30 more damage for each Energy attached to your opponent's Active Pokemon.

Has High HP Among Lightning Pokemon

As a Stage 1 Lightning Pokemon, Alolan Raichu ex's HP of 140 is quite high. Its Attack has the same performance as Alakazam, but since it can be used with only Colorless Energy, it pairs well with Manaphy or Dialga ex.

Alolan Marowak

  1. Burning Bonemerang

Flip 2 coins. This attack does 70 damage for each heads. If at least 1 heads, your opponent's Active Pokemon is now Burned.

Counts as Colorless Attack When Used With Kiawe Effectively

This Pokemon has an Attack similar to Marowak ex. Considering the Burn, you can expect 90 damage with 1 heads and 160+ damage with 2 heads. Also, by using Kiawe, you can attach two Fire Energy, so it can be considered a viable option in multi-type decks.

Alolan Vulpix

  1. Call Cold Air
Take 1 Water Energy from your Energy Zone and attach it to this Pokemon.

Use Depends on Energy Acceleration

Alolan Vulpix itself is a standard Basic Pokemon that can attach Energy to itself. Depending on the performance of its evolution, Alolan Ninetales, it might be worth using its Attack in the Active Spot.

Can Attack the Bench but Damage is Low

Two types of Rowlet have been revealed, differing only in their attacks. One is an unremarkable Basic Pokemon, while the other can perform a Bench attack for 1 Energy. However, the damage is low, so the choice between them will likely come down to personal preference.

Litten

Can Deal 30 Damage for 1 Energy

Two types of Litten have also been revealed, but one has an Attack that deals 30 damage for 1 Energy, which is quite powerful for a Basic Pokemon before Stage 2. The potential to knock out low-HP Basic Pokemon is also advantageous.

  1. Sing
Your opponent's Active Pokemon is now Asleep.

Can Aim to Stall with Asleep

Two types of Popplio have been revealed: one with a standard 1-Energy 20-damage attack, and another that inflicts Asleep for Colorless Energy. Which one will be more useful depends on its evolution.

  1. Bewitching Dance
    40
Your opponent's Active Pokemon is now Confused.

Can Be Used for Stalling

Oricorio (Pa'u Style) has performance like a Basic Pokemon version of Mismagius ex; its Attack damage is somewhat low, but it can guarantee Confusion. Combined with Gardevoir, perhaps it could be used for mid-game stalling?

Oricorio (Sensu Style)

70+20×1
  1. Spiteful Dance
    20+
If 1 of your Pokemon was Knocked Out by damage from an attack during your opponent's last turn, this attack does 60 more damage.

80 Damage for 1 Energy is Appealing

Oricorio (Sensu Style) has an Attack like a 1-Energy version of Marshadow. Since it can be used for 1 Energy, if used well, it can even launch a surprise attack from the hand, making it a potentially useful card if a Psychic-type Aggro deck can be built.

Rare Candy

 Celestial Guardians Card Rare Candy

  1. Choose 1 of your Basic Pokemon in play. If you have a Stage 2 card in your hand that evolves from that Pokemon, put that card onto the Basic Pokemon to evolve it, skipping the Stage 1. You can't use this card during your first turn or on a Basic Pokemon that was put into play this turn.

Use Stage 2 Pokemon from the Early Game!

Rare Candy is a powerful Item that allows you to evolve a Basic Pokemon directly into a Stage 2 Pokemon. The ability to use Stage 2 Pokemon from the second turn allows for strategies never seen before.

Combining it with existing Pokemon, particularly strong candidates that come to mind are Rampardos, Gengar, Charizard ex, and Garchomp ex.

Rotom Dex

 Celestial Guardians Card Rotom Dex
Card TypeCategory
TrainerItem
  1. Look at the top card of your deck. Then, you may shuffle your deck.

Adoption Seems a Bit Difficult

Compared to Pokedex, Rotom Dex lets you see fewer cards, but it excels in that you can shuffle your deck to change the next card you draw. However, since it reduces your hand by one card, it's unlikely to be adopted unless in a deck with absolutely spare space.

Ilima

 Celestial Guardians Card Ilima
Card TypeCategory
TrainerSupporter
  1. Put 1 of your Colorless Pokemon that has damage on it into your hand.

Powerful Supporter for Colorless Pokemon

Like Koga, Ilima can return a Pokemon to the hand, and it's excellent because it can also target Benched Pokemon. The move to retrieve a wall Pokemon is convenient, so its adoption can be considered in Arceus-related decks.

Lana

 Celestial Guardians Card Lana
Card TypeCategory
TrainerSupporter
  1. You can use this card only if you have Araquanid in play.
Switch in 1 of your opponent's Benched Pokemon to the Active Spot.

The Effect Itself is Very Powerful

This is a card that switches the opponent's Pokemon, belonging to the same family as Sabrina and Cyrus. Depending on the performance of Araquanid, it might be included in various decks.

Kiawe

 Celestial Guardians Card Kiawe
Card TypeCategory
TrainerSupporter
  1. Choose 1 of your Alolan Marowak or Turtonator. Take 2 Fire Energy from your Energy Zone and attach them to that Pokemon. Your turn ends.

Quite Powerful as Early Game Energy Acceleration

Although the targets are limited, being able to attach two Fire Energy is an exceptional effect. Since you can't attack on the turn you use it, it's a powerful card to use early on, but if targeting Alolan Marowak, the start of using its moves feels slightly delayed. Turtonator stands out as a Basic Pokemon with strong potential.

Acerola

 Celestial Guardians Card Acerola
Card TypeCategory
TrainerSupporter
  1. Choose 1 of your Palossand or Mimikyu that has damage on it, and move 40 of its damage to your opponent's Active Pokemon.

First Supporter to Directly Damage the Opponent

This is the first Supporter card with an effect that deals damage without using an Attack. Since it can also heal HP simultaneously, the effect is quite significant. Depending on the performance of Palossand and Mimikyu, this Supporter might even enable deck building around them.

Mallow

 Celestial Guardians Card Mallow
Card TypeCategory
TrainerSupporter
  1. Heal all damage from 1 of your Shiinotic or Tsareena. If you do, discard all Energy from that Pokemon.

Full Heal with No Risk if Used on Tank

Mallow fully heals your Pokemon but discards all its Energy. It's advantageous to use on Pokemon with no Energy attached to begin with, making it especially effective if you're using defense types like Shiinotic or Tsareena.

Sophocles

 Celestial Guardians Card Sophocles
Card TypeCategory
TrainerSupporter
  1. During this turn, attacks used by your Alolan Golem, Vikavolt, or Togedemaru do +30 damage to your opponent's Active Pokemon.

The Effect Itself is Simply Strong

The effect is like Blaine with different targets. The effect is strong enough, but whether it forms a viable deck depends on the performance of the three target Pokemon.

Lillie

 Celestial Guardians Card Lillie
Card TypeCategory
TrainerSupporter
  1. Heal 60 damage from 1 of your Stage 2 Pokemon.

Durability Card for Stage 2 Pokemon

Healing 60 HP is the largest amount among Supporter cards so far. Even so, it seems insufficient on its own to withstand two high-damage attacks, so combining it with Pokemon that can heal HP with attacks or reduce damage will likely be fundamental.

Rayquaza ex

 Celestial Guardians Card Rayquaza ex

Rayquaza ex is not obtained from Celestial Guardians packs, but will be available from a drop event held at a later date.

EvolveTypeSpecial Features
Colorless Typeex rule

140????
  1. Draco Meteor
1 of your opponent's Pokemon is chosen at random 4 times. For each time a Pokemon was chosen, do 40 damage to it.

Performance is Similar to Dragonite

Rayquaza ex has an Attack that randomly distributes 4 instances of 40 damage, making it feel like a Basic Pokemon version of Dragonite. Since its Attack can be used with Colorless Energy, the ability to use various Energy Acceleration methods is excellent.

New Binder and Board Arriving

Celestial Guardians New Binder and Board

Along with the addition of Celestial Guardians, new designs for Binders and Display Boards will also be released. It seems both feature designs depicting Rowlet.
