Battle Types and Unlock Conditions

In Pokemon TCG Pocket, battles are divided into three main types. The first type is the Step Up Battle, where you play in Solo Mode against an AI. The second type is the Private Match, where you can invite a specific player to compete. Lastly, there's the Random Match, where you face an opponent chosen at random online.

The battle function will be unlocked when the player reaches level 3. Also, after unlocking the battle function, you will need to complete 06 Let's Evolve your Pokemon! in the How to Play tutorial section.
How to Level Up FastSeparate Slots Available for Events
There are also limited-time Event Battles and Event Matches. Only Events considered as Battles will be tallied in the Event Records.
How to Play Step Up Battle
- Play in Order Starting From Beginner Level
- Complete all Battle Tasks
- Win 1,000 times
Clear in Order Starting From Beginner Level
You can earn rewards and experience points the first time you clear a Solo Battle. If you clear all of them, you can open a lot of Booster Packs, so start by clearing them one by one, starting from the beginner level.

Complete All Battle Tasks
Each battle features a special mission called a Battle Task. If you complete the requirements, you'll earn a shop ticket.
Trophy Reward Available
Trophy rewards are also set for the number of wins in Solo battles, which you can obtain Shinedust after winning a certain number of times.
How to Play Random Match
- Earn experience points and level up
- Beginner mode until you have all the cards
- Use Trading Card Game Player if you want to use a strong deck
Earn Experience Points and Raise Your Level
Random matches are the only way to actively earn experience points without spending any money. You can get Pack Hourglasses by leveling up and exchanging Shop Tickets, which you can get when you receive a 'Thank You' from your opponent after battle, so keep playing against other players to get more.
Choose a Battle Stance to Match Your Deck
You can earn +15 experience points in both Beginner and Trading Card Game Player Battle Stances. If you choose the Beginner Stance with a strong deck, your chances of winning is higher but it's best to select a stance that accurately reflects the strength of your deck.

Compete Against Family and Friends
In a Private Match, you can compete against a specific player by setting a password. This allows you to challenge your family, friends or a specific player in an invite-only match whenever you want.
How To Invite & Join Private MatchPrivate Match Not Added to Battle Records
Your private match results will not affect your profile screen results. The number of wins will only be counted towards trophy rewards.
