Some Special Conditions Can Overlap

Asleep, Paralyze, and Confuse will be overwritten by the one applied later. However, Poisoned and Burn overlap, so Pokemon can have up to 3 types of Special Conditions at once.

What is Pokemon Checkup?

At the end of each turn, it checks the status of each other's Pokemon. If there is a Pokemon with a Special Condition, the effects will be checked in the following order and the Special Condition's effect will be activated.

List of Disadvantageous Conditions

Disadvantageous Conditions on Pokemon

The above condition is limited to one turn and has no particular name set in the game. It will automatically recover when your turn ends.

Disadvantageous Effects on the Player

Unable to use Supporter CardPlayers who receive the attack cannot use Supporter the next turn.

The player who receives the attack may be at a disadvantage. The effect on the player cannot be recovered from Evolve or Retreat.

What are Special Conditions?

Pokemon Version of Status Effect

Poisoned

Special Conditions are the same as "status effects" in the other game. In Pokemon TCG Pocket, Pokemon with Special Conditions are at a disadvantage.

Apply Special Condition with Attack or Ability

To apply Special Condition, you need to use a specific attack or ability which applies Special Condition to opponent Pokemon.

List of Pokemon Related to Each Special Condition

Can be Recovered by Meeting the Conditions

Only Pokemon at the active spot can be applied with Special Condition. Any Pokemon can use "retreat" to return to the bench to recover from special conditions. Also, when a Pokemon evolves, it recovers almost all special conditions and disadvantageous effects.

How to Check Special Condition

Check the Special Condition from the Icon

Poisoned

Pokemon in a special state will have a special icon under its HP. If there are multiple special states, the icons will alternate.

Only One Type of Restriction Disadvantageous Effect

  1. Special status (status abnormality) effect list Image

For disadvantageous conditions such as being unable to retreat, an icon indicating that it is prohibited will be displayed (for players, it will be displayed next to the Bench). The player will not be able to select the corresponding action.
