Poison Barb Pros and Cons

Can Counter Opponent’s Attacks

When a Pokemon equipped with Poison Barb is damaged by an opponent’s attack, the attacking Pokemon becomes poisoned. Note that this effect does not trigger from Abilities or attacks from your own Pokemon.

Use It with Rocky Helmet

Rocky Helmet is a similar item, but the key difference is that Poison Barb’s effect still activates even if the equipped Pokemon is knocked out. If you want to deal a burst of damage immediately, use Rocky Helmet. Otherwise, use Poison Barb for sustained pressure over time.
