Wigglytuff ex Deck - Pros / Cons

  1. Wigglytuff Ex and Frosmoth's Asleep is Powerful Combo
  2. Misty's Energy Acceleration Allows for Quick Attacks
  3. Wigglytuff EX requires a Lot of Energy

Wigglytuff EX and Frosmoth's Asleep is a Powerful Combo

Wigglytuff Ex and Frosmoth's Attack both guarantee to put the opponent's Pokemon to sleep. In particular, Wigglytuff Ex's attack does 80 damage, so you can defeat most Pokemon with ease if it stays asleep for even one turn.

Misty's Energy Acceleration Allows for Quick Attacks

If you succeed in Energy Acceleration with Misty, you can use Frosmoth's Attack early on. Frosmoth requires 2 Energy to attack, so if you get one head, you can attack immediately with Attach Energy from Zone.

Wigglytuff EX requires a lot of Energy

Wigglytuff EX requires 3 Energy, so it will take some time for it to attach Energy resources. Without any energy acceleration options available, you'll need a minimum of 3 turns to get it into action, which is a significant drawback. This will work depending on how effectively you can stall with Frosmoth until Wigglytuff EX is fully powered up.

Wigglytuff ex Deck Strategy

  1. Rush Early Game with Frosmoth
  2. Prepare the Next Attacker on the Bench
  3. Save Wigglytuff ex for the End
Rush Early Game with Frosmoth
  1. Frosmoth
  2. Misty

In the early game, evolve Snom quickly into Frosmoth and use Misty for Energy Acceleration to start attacking. Put your opponent to sleep to buy time until Wigglytuff ex is ready.

Prepare the Next Attacker on the Bench
  1. Snom
  2. Jigglypuff

If you draw Jigglypuff or a second Snom, place them on the Bench to prepare as the next attacker. Charge Energy for Snom with Misty, and for Jigglypuff with Attach Energy from Zone.

Save Wigglytuff ex for the End
  1. Frosmoth
  2. Frosmoth
  3. Wigglytuff ex

After your first Frosmoth is defeated, bring out the second Frosmoth, followed by Wigglytuff ex. If you bring out Wigglytuff ex too early, you risk losing by a 1-2 point margin. If the round seems close to a conclusion, either by winning or losing, it’s okay to set Wigglytuff ex in Active Spot earlier.
