Weakness Effects
Damage Increases
When you attack your opponent's Pokemon card with a type that it is weak against, you'll deal extra damage. When this happens, an Advantage or Weakness indicator will be displayed.
Not Fixed by Card Type
The Weakness is typically determined by Pokemon types, but there are exceptions based on specific card effects or abilities. It's always best to check the individual card for its specific weakness and any special rules that might apply.
Pokemon with Special RulesHow to Calculate Weakness
Add 20 to the Final Damage Dealt
When a Pokemon card of a Weakness type deals damage using an attack, 20 damage is added to the final value. However, if the damage is 0, weakness is not taken into account.
Multiplying Damage is Only Added Once
Attacks that involve flipping a coin are marked with an 'x' and use multiplication to calculate the damage. Instead of adding +20 to each hit, it will only add 20 to the total damage.
