Extradimensional Crisis Confirmed Cards

Buzzwole ex

140+20×2
  1. Punch
    30
  2. Big Beat
    120
During your next turn, this Pokemon can't use Big Beat.

Promising as a Grass Type Finisher

Buzzwole ex has two Attacks, but the main one to use will likely be its Attack No.2, Big Beat. Since it's an Ultra Beast, if there are 2 Energy cards in the Discard pile, you can use the Lusamine card (mentioned later) for Energy Acceleration, and combined with attaching Energy from your hand, you can use the Attack immediately.

Nihilego

  2. New Wave

Your opponent's Active Pokemon is now Poisoned.

Powerful Poisoned Support Card

Nihilego's Ability can increase damage from Poisoned by +10. Its Attack is also quite powerful, dealing at least 50 damage including Poisoned. Since this effect likely stacks, having two of them on the field could be very troublesome for the opponent.

Guzzlord ex

  2. Tyrannical Hole
    120

Devastating if the Attack No.1's Effect Hits

Guzzlord ex's Attack No.1 also has the same effect as Team Rocket Grunt. Being able to discard multiple Energy cards depending on coin flips is a very powerful effect and could be a significant threat to an opponent's powered-up Pokemon.

Celesteela

  1. Ability Icon
    Ultra Thrusters
Once during your turn, you may switch your Active Ultra Beast with 1 of your Benched Ultra Beasts.
  2. Moombahton
    100
Flip a coin. If tails, this Attack does nothing.

Powerful Support for Ultra Beasts

Celesteela’s Ability lets you switch an Ultra Beast with one on your Bench. Since Celesteela itself is also a valid target, being able to easily retreat it when it starts in the Active Spot is a big advantage.

Plus, if you have two Celesteela in play, you can use Buzzwole ex’s second attack on back-to-back turns. This makes the Celesteela and Buzzwole ex combo especially worth keeping an eye on.

Pheromosa

Pokemon TCG Pocket Pheromosa Image

Grass TypeUltra Beast
HPWeaknessRetreat
70+20×1
  1. Jump Blues
    20
This attack also does 20 damage to 1 of your opponent's Benched Pokemon.

Devastating if Its First Attack’s Effect Lands

The Attack's effect itself is the same as Lopunny, but Pheromosa can be said to be stronger as it is a Basic Pokemon and can hit for weakness.

Since it's a Grass Type Pokemon that can easily perform a Bench Attack, it looks like a strong partner for Decidueye ex.

Kartana

Pokemon TCG Pocket Kartana Image
Evolution StageTypeSpecial Features
Grass TypeUltra Beast
HPWeaknessRetreat
60+20×1
  1. Thrash Metal
    40

Excellent Grass Type Attacker

Kartana is a powerful Basic Pokemon that can deal 40 damage for 1 Energy. It's effectively a Farfetch'd that can hit for weakness, so it's well worth considering for Grass Type Aggro decks.

Xurkitree

  1. Electronica
    60
Your opponent's Active Pokemon is now Confused.

Basic Pokemon for Stalling

Xurkitree has an Attack that deals 60 damage for 3 Energy and inflicts Confusion. As an Ultra Beast, it can accelerate Energy with Lusamine, making it a potentially useful staller in the mid to late game.

Naganadel

Darkness TypeUltra Beast
HPWeaknessRetreat
100+20×2
  1. Electro House
    40
Your opponent's Active Pokemon is now Poisoned.

Excellent Stage 1 Attacker

Naganadel has an excellent Attack, dealing 40 damage + Poisoned for 1 Energy. In terms of performance alone, it is better than Weezing, and seems like it would be useful in Poisoned-based Aggro decks.

Stakataka

Pokemon TCG Pocket Stakataka Image

Metal TypeUltra Beast
HPWeaknessRetreat
110+20×3
  1. Brass Rock
    40
During your opponent's next turn, this Pokemon takes -20 damage from attacks.

Decently High Durability

Stakataka has high HP for a Basic Pokemon (110) and its Attack reduces incoming Attack damage by 20. Its effective HP is 130 or more, but its Attack damage is low, and it might be difficult for it to shine unless it's in a deck that can leverage its Ultra Beast trait.

Blacephalon

Pokemon TCG Pocket Blacephalon Image
Evolution StageTypeSpecial Features
Fire TypeUltra Beast
HPWeaknessRetreat
100+20×2
  1. Beat Punk
    130
This Pokemon also does 70 damage to itself.

Attack is Strong, but Recoil is also Large

Blacephalon has a very powerful Attack, dealing 130 damage for 3 Energy. However, it also takes 70 damage itself, so it can only use the Attack a maximum of two times as is.

Ideally, you'd want to use it to take the final Prize cards, but it might also be interesting to use Moltres ex for Energy Acceleration and use it early.

Tapu Koko ex

Take a Lightning Energy from your Energy Zone and attach it to this Pokemon.
  2. Mach Bolt
    90

Can deal 90 damage on the second turn if going second

Tapu Koko ex can accelerate Energy to itself with its Attack No.1, and combined with attaching Energy from hand, it can deal 90 damage with its Attack No.2 on the next turn. It's a card with performance like a Basic Pokemon version of Charizard ex.

Type: Null

80+20×2
  1. Quick Blow
    20+
Flip a coin. If heads, this attack does 20 more damage.

Versatile Early-Game Attacker

Type: Null is a versatile Pokemon that can deal 20-40 damage for 1 Energy. As a comparison, it would be Cyclizar with the same HP, but since the damage is inconsistent, which one to use would be a matter of preference.

Seems Easy to Use as a Pre-Evolution

Silvally exists as its Evolved form, and if it performs well, Type: Null becomes a high-performance pre-Evolved Pokemon. Depending on Silvally’s performance, this Evolution line could be a flexible choice for various decks.

Lusamine

TrainerSupporter
  1. You can use this card only if your opponent has gotten at least 1 point.
Choose 1 of your Ultra Beasts. Attach 2 random Energy from your discard pile to that Pokemon.

Powerful Ultra Beast Support Card

Lusamine is a Supporter card with performance like an Ultra Beast version of Volkner, allowing you to attach 2 Energy cards from the Discard pile. Since its target range is wide, you won't have trouble finding a use for it, and it has the potential to be a trump card in Ultra Beast decks.

Alolan Diglett

  1. Happened to Headbutt
    40
Flip a coin. If tails, this attack does nothing.

Standard Performance

Alolan Diglett is a Pokemon that deals 0 or 40 damage for 1 Energy. In terms of expected value, it's no different from the Alolan Diglett from the Celestial Guardians set, so which one to use is a matter of preference.

Zeraora

    Thunderclap Flash
At the end of your first turn, take a Lightning Energy from your Energy Zone and attach it to this Pokemon.
  2. Lightning Claw
    50

Powerful Card if Played First on Your Turn

Zeraora's Ability allows it to attach a Lightning Energy to itself at the end of your first turn. This allows it to attack one turn earlier if you go first, but it doesn't change the turn it starts attacking if you go second.

Shiinotic

Pokemon TCG Pocket Shiinotic Image

90+20×2
  1. Ability Icon
    Illuminate
Once during your turn, you may put a random Pokemon from your deck into your hand.
  2. Gentle Slap
    40

Excellent Search Card Usable on the Bench

Shiinotic's Attack performance is average, but its Ability allows you to Draw 1 random card a Pokemon from your deck once per turn. Since it can target any Pokemon, it's likely to be included in decks that absolutely need a specific Pokemon.

Since Shiinotic itself is a Stage 1 Pokemon, using it together with a Stage 2 Pokemon will significantly clutter the deck. It's best used as support for Basic to Stage 1 Pokemon.

Rowlet

  1. Fury Attack
    10×
Flip 3 coins. This Attack does 10 damage for each heads.

Performance is Somewhat Low

Rowlet is a Pokemon that can deal a maximum of 30 damage for 1 Energy, but its expected damage value is 15. If you prioritize damage, it's generally better to use Rowlet (Solgaleo).

Poipole

Two types of designs have been revealed: one based on Ultra Beast, the main theme of this set, and another with a floral-themed display board.
