Weezing Pros and Cons

Ability to Poison Opponent's Pokemon

Weezing has an Ability that can poison the opponent's Pokemon. It's an extremely effective Pokemon as it can deal damage even without any Energy attached.

Attack is Relatively Modest

Weezing's Attack deals 30 damage with just 1 Energy, which is relatively modest for a Stage 1 Pokemon. However, when combined with the poison damage from its Ability, it guarantees a total of 40 damage, making its actual damage output quite efficient.

Great Synergy with Muk

Muk's Attack deals 120 damage with 3 Energy if the opponent is poisoned. Combining it with Weezing’s Ability to poison allows you to deliver significant damage.

Escape For Free Using Koga

Using Koga, you can return Weezing along with its pre-evolved form Koffing to your hand. You can quickly redeploy Koffing, evolve it next turn, attach Energy, and attack, which effectively allows you to retreat without any Energy cost while also healing HP.

By repeatedly using Koga, you can prolong your survivability, making Weezing an excellent tank and wall Pokemon to protect those that require more setup.

Koga Deck Recipe and Strategy

High Retreat Cost

While Weezing lacks any significant weaknesses, it requires 3 Energy to retreat, making it difficult to switch out from the Active Spot. Without Koga, it’s nearly impossible to move Weezing around, so be mindful of this limitation.
