Weezing Deck - Pros / Cons

  1. High durability, making it hard to lose points
  2. Weezing excels in chip damage
  3. Energy distribution can sometimes be uneven

Hard to Lose Points Dure To High Durability

  1. Mewtwo ex
  2. Weezing
  3. Koga

This deck has high endurance Pokemon, with Mewtwo ex at 150 HP and Weezing at 110 HP. Notably, Koga can help Weezing avoid Knock Outs, making it less likely to lose points compared to other Mewtwo ex decks.

Weezing Excels in Chip Damage

  1. WeezingAbility1
  2. WeezingAbility2

With only 1 Energy, Weezing can attack and poison the opponent with its Ability, making it an outstanding chip damage dealer. After one hit from Weezing, Mewtwo ex can use either Attack No.1 or Attack No.2 to finish off opponents, making Weezing valuable from early to late game.

Energy Distribution Can Be Uneven

Multiple energy claimed

Since this deck uses two types of Energy, if Energy distribution leans toward one type, attacks may not connect effectively. Be sure to monitor the Energy Zone carefully and plan your offensive strategy accordingly.

Weezing Deck Strategy

  1. Use Weezing to stall for time
  2. Power up Mewtwo ex on the Bench
  3. Save Psydrive until the end
Using Weezing to Stall for Time
  1. Weezing
  2. Koga

Evolve Koffing into Weezing as soon as possible to chip away at your opponent’s HP while stalling for time to activate Mewtwo ex. When Weezing's HP gets low, use Koga to retrieve it at the right moment.

Be Mindful of When to Use Koga

If only Mewtwo ex is on your Bench, retrieving Weezing will automatically force Mewtwo ex into the Active Spot. Avoid using Koga if Mewtwo ex is not ready or if you do not want it out yet.

Powering Up Mewtwo ex on the Bench

Once you draw Mewtwo ex, place it on your Bench and start gathering Energy. Since Sabrina can interfere, having an extra Weezing as a shield is reassuring.

Saving Psydrive for the End
  1. Mewtwo ex

Mewtwo ex's "Psydrive," is powerful but requires discarding 2 Psychic Energy afterward, making it challenging to use repeatedly with this deck. Ideally, gain points with Attack No.1 first, then finish with Attack No.2 for a decisive blow.
