Scolipede Deck - Pros / Cons

  1. Poison and Scolipede Combo is Powerful
  2. Able to Collect Weezing with Koga
  3. It Will Be Tough If Poisoned is Cured by Evolving

Poison and Scolipede Combo is Powerful

  1. Weezing
  2. Whirlipede

Scolipede's Attack has good cost-effectiveness, with 2 Energy and 120 damage if the opponent is Poisoned. Poison enemy Pokemon with Weezing or Whirlipede, and deal massive damage using Scolipede's attack.

Able to Collect Weezing with Koga

  1. Image before Using Koga
  2. Image after using Koga

Koga can return Weezing from the Active Spot to your hand. It is effective when you want to avoid being Knocked Out or when you want to switch them with another Pokemon on the Bench. The best strategy is: Poison with Weezing → Return to hand using Koga → Attack with Scolipede.

It Will Be Tough If Poisoned is Cured by Evolving

Since this is a deck that is based on poisoning the opponent, it will be difficult to deal damage if it is cured by Evolving. Also, since it is composed only of Single-Prize cards, it is difficult to go against a one-hit KO deck that deals high damage.

Scolipede Deck Strategy

  1. Prioritize Inflicting Poison Status
  2. Defeat One Opponent With Scolipede
  3. Use Tauros To Finish Off Pokemon ex
Prioritize Inflicting Poison Status
  1. Weezing
  2. Whirlipede

The top priority of this deck is preparing a Pokemon that can inflict Poison Status. The key Pokemon for this are Weezing and Whirlipede. Securing these two is essential.

Careful With Energy Attachment When Going First

If you plan to evolve Weezing → inflict Poisoned → retreat with Koga → attack with Scolipede and you can do that quickly enough, note that when going first, there may not be enough Energy for Weezing. If you think you can evolve Scolipede on the Bench, carefully consider whether to use Koffing to attack or not.

Defeat One Opponent With Scolipede
  1. Koga
  2. Leaf
  3. Scolipede

If the opponent is still Poisoned when your turn begins, evolve Whirlipede in the Active Spot or, if Weezing is in play, switch it out for Scolipede using Koga or Leaf. Scolipede's Attack combined with Poison damage will almost guarantee a Knock Out.

Use Tauros To Finish Off Pokemon ex
  1. Tauros (Mythical Island)
  2. Scolipede

If the remaining opponent is a Pokemon ex, weaken it to below 120 HP and aim to secure the win with Tauros. If the opponent’s deck has no Pokemon ex, focus on preparing a second Scolipede to finish the battle.
