You can obtain Weezing (Mythical Island) from the booster pack Mythical Island. Alternatively, it can be exchanged for 70 Pack Points.

Weezing (Mythical Island) Pros and Cons

Applies a One Turn Confusion Effect

A Pokemon hit by Weezing's attack will enter a state where, if it uses an attack on the next turn, it must flip a coin, and if tails, the attack fails. Think of this as a one turn version of Confusion.

Can Retreat for Free with Koga

By using Koga, Weezing can return to the hand along with its pre-evolution, Koffing. This allows you to immediately place Koffing back onto the field and evolve it next turn while attaching Energy to attack. This makes it an effective zero cost retreat while also recovering HP, an exceptionally strong effect.

By repeatedly cycling it with Koga, Weezing can sustain itself for many turns, making it an excellent wall for Pokemon that take time to set up.

Can Disrupt Damage Calculations

Since Weezing (Genetic Apex) is the most commonly used Weezing, many opponents do not expect you to evolve into the Mythical Island version. Depending on the situation, you can disrupt your opponent’s damage calculations.

High Energy Cost for Retreating

While Weezing does not have any major weaknesses, it requires three Energy to retreat, making it very difficult to switch out. If you don’t have Koga, be aware that moving it from the Active Spot will be nearly impossible.
