Muk Pros and Cons

Can Deal High Damage to Poisoned Pokemon

Normally, Muk’s Attack deals 70 damage with 3 Energy, which is a good attack performance. However, when used against a poisoned Pokemon, it deals 120 damage. Including poison damage, this totals 130 damage., which is enough to Knock Out most Pokemon.

Sample Pokemon That Deals Poison
GrimerWeezingVenomoth

Grimer, before evolving, can apply poison, so by poisoning the opponent first and then evolving, you can meet the condition for dealing high damage. If you are raising Muk on the Bench, use other Pokemon to poison the opponent.

Very High HP

Muk has an impressive 130 HP, making it one of the highest HP Stage 1 Pokemon with a Single-Prize. Unless it faces a particularly strong Attack, it is unlikely to be Knocked Out in a single hit, which is a big strength.

Can Return to Hand with Koga

By using Koga, Muk can be returned to the hand along with Grimer from the Active Spot. If you manage to retrieve Muk before it gets knocked out, you can avoid losing points. Its high HP also makes it an excellent wall.

High Retreat Cost

Muk requires 3 Energy to retreat, making it quite difficult to move out of the Active Spot. Even if you retreat, it will take some time before it can attack again, so you should carefully consider whether to retreat or not.
