Magnezone & Skarmory Deck - Pros / Cons

  1. Cover Magnezone’s setup weakness
  2. Maintain consistent attacks
  3. Fkexible type combinations

Cover Magnezone’s Setup Weakness

  1. Skarmory
  2. Magnezone

The Magnezone deck utilizes Magneton for self-sustaining Lightning Energy, allowing it to compensate for its setup time with other Pokemon types. This deck uses Skarmory, which can deal 50 damage with just one Energy, to take an aggressive early-game approach.

Maintain Consistent Attacks

  1. Magneton Ability - Volt Charge
  2. Magnezone Attack - Thunder Blast

The deck consists of early-game attackers that can use attacks with just one Energy and a late-game finisher, combining them with the self-sustaining Magnezone. Its strength lies in its ability to continuously unleash powerful attacks without interruption.

Flexible Type Combinations

  1. Hitmonlee
  2. Druddigon
  3. Weezing

Since the deck’s type is flexible, it can be built with various Pokemon combinations. Strong Fighting-type Pokemon, defensive options like Druddigon, and a stall strategy with Weezing are all excellent choices.

Magnezone & Skarmory Deck Strategy

  1. Skarmory is the ideal starter
  2. Magnemite start is acceptable
  3. Prepare attackers on the Bench
Skarmory is The Ideal Starter
  1. Skarmory
  2. Rocky Helmet
  3. Giant Cape

Ideally, you want to start with Skarmory, which can deal 50 damage with just one Energy. It can easily take out low-HP Pokemon in a single hit, giving you a strong early-game advantage.

Magnemite Start is Acceptable
  1. Magnemite (Space-Time Smackdown)
  2. Magneton
  3. Magnezone

Starting with Magnemite is not ideal, but it can still function well thanks to Magneton’s Ability, which provides Energy Acceleration. If you go first, you can evolve into Magnezone as early as turn 2 and unleash two consecutive 110-damage attacks by turn 3 or 4.

Prepare Attackers on the Bench
  1. Heatran
  2. Magnezone

While other Pokemon are battling, prepare your attackers on the Bench. The ideal setup is transitioning from Skarmory into two Magnezone, but Heatran is also a powerful finisher that can secure victory.
