How to Use Mew ex

Stall Card with HP130 and 1 Retreat Cost

Mew ex can function as a great stalling card with its HP130 and 1 retreat cost. Compared to existing cards, Mew ex can function similarly to Zapdos ex.

Genome Hacking Counters Attackers

Genome Hacking can be used to counter heavy attackers if you have the turn advantage. Consider attacks from Charizard ex, Mewtwo ex, and even Dragonite.

Combo with Sabrina

Genome Hacking with a timely use of Sabrina can effectively disrupt any large attackers your opponent is building up on the bench!

Ignores Energy Costs

Unlike Ditto's Copy Anything, Genome Hacking does not require the same energy to use an attack. Therefore, Mew ex can reliably use any attack of the opponent's active pokemon, as long as it has 3 energy.

Bypass Negative Effects

Charizard ex's Crimson Storm and Mewtwo ex's Psydrive discard 2 Fire and Psychic Energy respectively.

If Mew ex does not have Fire or Psychic energies attached when using Genome Hacking, the energy discarding effect of using these attacks is bypassed.

Mew ex Pros and Cons

Can Be Used in Any Type of Deck

Mew ex's Attack No. 2, "Genome Hacking," is a special move that allows you to use an Attack from the opponent's Active Pokemon. Since it requires 3 Colorless Energy, it can be included in any deck regardless of Energy type

Strong Against Pokemon with Attack Damage ≥ HP

Genome Hacking is most effective against Pokemon whose HP is less than or equal to the Attack damage. It can One-Hit KO powerful Pokemon, making it a strong deterrent just by keeping it on the Bench with 2 Energy attached.

Durable with Supporter Cards

Mew ex has a dedicated Supporter card, Budding Expeditioner. This card allows you to return Mew ex from the Active Spot to your hand, removing damage from Mew ex and switching it with a Pokemon on the Bench.

By switching between two Mew ex cards, you can endure for a significant number of turns.

Damage Relies on Opponent

Attack No. 1 deals 20 damage for 1 Energy, which is the bare minimum, and its ability to deal significant damage relies heavily on the opponent. It’s hard to call it a main attacker, and it’s more of a Pokemon to increase your options rather than a core choice.
