Yanmega ex Deck - Pros / Cons

  1. Attack early with Exeggutor ex
  2. Use Erika to sustain while preparing Yanmega ex
  3. Boost damage with Rocky Helmet

Attack Early with Exeggutor ex

Since Yanmega ex can attack using Colorless Energy, it offers a variety of sub-attacker options. This deck utilizes Exeggutor ex

, which shares the same Grass Type and benefits from Erika. Exeggutor ex serves as both an early-game wall and attacker, allowing for a strong start until Yanmega ex is fully set up.

Use Erika to Sustain while Preparing Yanmega ex

With a high base HP of 160, Exeggutor ex can buy time by healing with Erika while setting up Yanmega ex. Ideally, you can swap a weakened Exeggutor ex for a second one using Leaf

.

Boost Damage with Rocky Helmet

Since this deck runs relatively few Pokemon, it can make use of Rocky Helmet to help supplement Yanmega ex’s damage. Additionally, healing with Erika increases opportunities to trigger Rocky Helmet’s effect.

Yanmega ex Deck Strategy

  1. Quick attack with Exeggutor ex
  2. Evolve Yanmega ex on the Bench
  3. Use Exeggutor to Deal Damage
Quick Attack with Exeggutor ex
  1. Exeggcute
  2. Exeggutor ex

In the early game, aim for a quick attack with Exeggutor ex

. If going first, you can use Exeggutor ex's attack before your opponent evolves, and if heads is flipped on the coin, a one-hit KO is often possible.

Evolve Yanmega ex on the Bench
  1. Yanma
  2. Yanmega ex

While Exeggutor ex is in the Active Spot, attach Energy to Yanmega ex on the Bench. To protect against switches like Sabrina

, it’s helpful to have another Exeggutor ex on the Bench as well.

Use Exeggutor to Deal Damage
  1. Exeggutor ex
  2. Yanmega ex

A great strategy is to have two Exeggutor ex cards to fight. If one is close to being knocked out, use Leaf

to retreat it and swap in an evolved Pokemon from the Bench. Take advantage of Exeggutor’s high HP to pressure your opponent, making them face off against three Pokemon at once.

Mars Works Best After First Knockout

Mars

is most effective when used after your opponent has 2 points. Use it when Yanmega ex enters play after one of your Pokemon ex has been knocked out to prevent your opponent’s counterattacks.
