Golurk Deck - Pros / Cons

  1. Able to Aim for One-Hit KO on Any Pokemon with Golurk
  2. Buys Time as Most Pokemon are Single-Prize
  3. Disadvantage is That it Lacks Stability

Able to Aim for One-Hit KO on Any Pokemon with Golurk

Golurk

Golurk's attack requires 4 Energy and takes a long time to use, but depending on the coin flip, it can deal 200 damage, which is the same as Charizard ex and can defeat all Pokemon with a one-hit KO.

Buys Time as Most Pokemon are Single-Prize

  1. Golurk
  2. Mewtwo

All of the Pokemon in the deck are Single-Prize, so even if two Pokemon are Knock Out, you will not be defeated. Use Pokemon as a wall to slowly prepare Pokemon on the Bench.

Disadvantage is that it lacks Stability

  1. Ralts
  2. Kirlia
  3. Gardevoir

The deck's stability is quite low as it uses Golurk's coin toss and multiple Evolve Pokemon. Also, since there is no 1-2 Energy attack, there will be many situations where you will lose by speed if you can't prepare Gardevoir smoothly.

Convert to Mewtwo ex Once Obtained

  1. Mewtwo ex

Golurk has same Mewtwo ex. Mewtwo ex doesn't require Evolution and has an attack with 2 energy, which makes it more powerful than Golurk. Once you have your cards, consider converting them to Mewtwo ex deck.

Golurk Deck Strategy

  1. Prepare Bench Pokemon while Buying Time
  2. Prepare the Second Attacker
  3. Use Gardevoir Against High HP Opponents
Prepare Bench Pokemon while Buying Time
  1. Golett
  2. Ralts

In the beginning, place Golett or Mewtwo to the Active Spot as a wall. In the meantime, attach Energy to Golett or Mewtwo on the Bench and evolve Ralts.

Prepare the Second Attacker
  1. Golurk
  2. Mewtwo

Mewtwo cannot use Attack continuously without Gardevoir, and Golurk also relies on the coin toss, so make sure to prepare a second attacker.

Use Gardevoir Against High HP Opponents
  1. Gardevoir

For Pokemon with high HP, Golurk and Mewtwo may not be able to defeat them. Use Gardevoir as an attacker against such opponents. If you attach one Energy in advance, you can immediately attack using the ability and by attaching Energy from Zone.
