User Score

Mewtwo ex Deck - Pros / Cons

  1. Repeated 150-Damage Attacks by Mewtwo ex
  2. Stable Performance Due to Basic Pokemon
  3. Difficult if Gardevoir Evolution is Delayed

Repeated 150-Damage Attacks by Mewtwo ex

  1. Using Gardevoir
  2. Mewtwo ex

Mewtwo ex deck’s biggest advantage is its ability to create a setup where Gardevoir's Ability and Attach Energy from Zone allow the Active Mewtwo ex to use the second attack "Psydrive" repeatedly. Most decks struggle to withstand sustained 150-damage attacks, making it so that once the setup is complete, it's nearly unbeatable.

Easy Point-Scoring With First Attack

  1. Giovanni
  2. Card Effect

Mewtwo ex’s Psychic Sphere is a highly practical move that requires only 2 Energy. Combined with Giovanni, it can reach 60 damage, which is enough to knock out many Basic Pokemon, making early-game point scoring a strong option.

Stable Performance Due to Basic Pokemon

Another strength of this deck is its stability, as it centers around Basic Pokemon like Mewtwo ex. This makes the deck easier to operate than decks with evolved attackers, such as those using Charizard ex, allowing for consistent gameplay.

Difficult if Gardevoir Evolution is Delayed

  1. Ralts
  2. Kirlia
  3. Gardevoir

The deck’s strength largely hinges on how quickly Ralts can evolve into Gardevoir. If Gardevoir is not set up on the Bench, Energy distribution becomes inadequate, often resulting in a challenging game.

Mewtwo ex Deck Strategy

  1. Start with Mewtwo ex or Ralts
  2. Develop Gardevoir on the Bench
  3. Finish with Mewtwo ex’s Psydrive
Start with Mewtwo ex or Ralts
  1. Mewtwo ex
  2. Ralts

In the early game, attach 2 Energy to Mewtwo ex and use Psychic Sphere. If you can set up Ralts as well, consider placing it in the Active Spot while building up Mewtwo ex with Energy on the Bench.

Develop Gardevoir on the Bench
  1. Kirlia
  2. Gardevoir

When you draw Kirlia or Gardevoir, evolve your Bench Ralts into Gardevoir. It’s also helpful to keep another Pokemon on the Bench as a switch option, like Sabrina. If possible, start energizing a second Mewtwo ex for additional power.

Finish with Mewtwo ex’s Psydrive
  1. Mewtwo ex

Once Mewtwo ex has accumulated 4 Energy, move it to the Active Spot to use Psydrive. Just take note that you’ll discard 2 Energy after use. But with Gardevoir’s Ability, you can manage Energy Acceleration and utilize Attach Energy from Zone to keep the attacks going.
