Alakazam Deck - Pros / Cons

  1. Alakazam's High Firepower is Ideal
  2. Preparing Alakazam is important
  3. You May Encounter Issues if You Can't Evolve

Alakazam's High Firepower is Ideal

  1. Alakazam
  2. Alakazam Attack Damage
1 piece90 damage
2 pieces120 damage
3 pieces150 damage

Alakazam's Psychic's damage increases depending on the number of energy of the opponent. Especially if your opponent has 3 or more Energy attached, you will be able to deal enough damage to defeat them in one hit with Ex Pokemon.

It is Important to Be Able to Prepare Alakazam

  1. Abra
  2. Kadabra

Alakazam is a Stage 2 and 3 energy attack, so it is important to be able to prepare safely on the bench. Evolve's original Abra and Kadabra do not have strong HP or Attack, so you will need to use another Pokemon as a wall.

Save Time With Hypno’s Ability

  1. Hypno

Hypno's ability allows you to put your opponent's battle Pokemon to sleep. It depends on the result of the coin toss, but it is recommended to earn a turn to prepare Alakazam.

Evolve Accidents That Cannot Be Avoided Occur

  1. ケーシィ
  2. Kadabra
  3. Alakazam

Since Alakazam is a Stage 2 Pokemon, it may be knocked out before you can draw the Evolved Kadabra or Alakazam. Buy time by moving back to the bench without reducing energy using Abra's Teleport.

Alakazam Deck Strategy

  1. Start the battle with Kangaskhan
  2. Train Alakazam on the Bench
  3. Finish the battle with Alakazam
Start the battle with Kangaskhan
  1. Kangaskhan
  2. Abra
  3. Froakie

In the early game, battle with Kangaskhan to train Abra and Froakie on the Bench. If you start with Abra, use its "Teleport" attack to swap with another Pokemon on the Bench. If you start with Froakie, switch to Kangaskhan if available, or let Froakie serve as a wall.

Train Alakazam on the Bench
  1. Kadabra
  2. Alakazam

Once you draw Kadabra or Alakazam, evolve Abra on the Bench. To prevent getting swapped, it's also good to place another Pokemon on the Bench for safety. If you have extra capacity, consider training a Greninja as backup; otherwise, it's okay to let it act as a wall in favor of Alakazam.

Finish the battle with Alakazam
  1. Alakazam

Once Alakazam has 3 Energy attached, bring it to the Active Spot if the opponent brings out their attacker. If the opponent’s attackers, like Pikachu ex, Mewtwo ex, or Charizard ex, are set up with high-damage attacks, Alakazam can take them out in one hit.
